4 Vietnamese athletes compete in a race on the 'pearl island' Phu Quoc

Another special and attractive feature of the VTV Phu Quoc Marathon 2025 award structure is the National Record Breaking category for 2 distances: 25 million VND for athletes breaking the National Record for the 21km distance and 50 million VND for the 42km distance.

The Vietnam national athletics team also contributed 4 members to the tournament including athletes Nguyen Thi Oanh, Bui Thi Thu Ha, Nguyen Trung Cuong and Luong Duc Phuoc.

Nguyen Thi Oanh will contribute to making the VTV Phu Quoc Marathon more attractive.

This is the first time the VTV Phu Quoc Marathon has been organized. The tournament will officially take place on the occasion of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day holiday with the main running date of April 6, 2025 at the "pearl island" Phu Quoc, Kien Giang province. The event center is a marathon and a perfect combination of sports - relaxation - music enjoyment to create a classy experience: running a marathon under the most brilliant sunrise in Southeast Asia, a concert at the Grand World sea square with famous singers such as Ha Nhi, Lan Nha, Tang Phuc...

This race is organized with the aim of making Phu Quoc a venue for international sports and entertainment events, contributing to raising Vietnam's position on the world sports map, especially in the field of marathons and outdoor sports. Through the race, the organizers hope to contribute to raising public awareness of protecting the marine environment and natural landscape of Phu Quoc, thereby contributing to the development of sustainable tourism.

Kien Giang Province and Phu Quoc City expect VTV Phu Quoc Marathon to be a successful start for a perfect combination model of sports - culture - tourism in Phu Quoc, Kien Giang Province. The event will create a highlight and great experience for visitors when coming to this locality, while promoting the development of tourism economy for the city. VTV Phu Quoc Marathon is expected to be held periodically on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month every year and will be held in rotation among the prominent locations of Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province.
