The conference announced the establishment of a 3-year partnership to jointly implement the program "Vietnamese Brands Go Global with Amazon" to create a launching pad for Vietnamese businesses in the global e-commerce market.
Running from 2025 to 2027, the program has two goals: Providing comprehensive training and online export certification for 1,000 Vietnamese businesses; supporting 30 national brands to increase their international presence through e-commerce with Amazon.
Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Trade Promotion Agency, said that diversifying trade promotion activities in the digital environment is no longer an option but a prerequisite to improve the competitiveness, adaptability and sustainable development of Vietnamese enterprises in the international market.
The program “V-Brands Go Global with Amazon” was announced and launched, marking a new development step in the cooperation between the Department of Trade Promotion and Amazon Global Selling Vietnam for the period 2025 - 2027.
According to Mr. Larry Hu, General Director of Amazon Global Selling Southeast Asia, Amazon Global Selling recognizes that e-commerce exports are becoming an important driving force in Vietnam's international trade strategy and brand development.
“By working with the Trade Promotion Agency, we will support businesses in developing economies to innovate products, digitally transform operations, and expand globally. Amazon strives to provide Vietnamese businesses with the tools and expertise they need to succeed in global e-commerce,” said Larry Hu.
After announcing the strategic cooperation, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency and Amazon Global Selling Vietnam will launch a comprehensive program to support Vietnamese businesses in expanding their business to international markets.
The program will focus on providing knowledge and necessary support, helping Vietnamese manufacturers and businesses build strong brands, thereby increasing export value.
The initiative will be implemented in two main phases: Online export promotion training to improve digital trade promotion skills for 1,000 Vietnamese enterprises, with in-depth training through 20 specialized online courses designed to enhance expertise in online export promotion for enterprises.
Phase 2: Promote Manufacturer Transformation. A series of live events will take place in key industrial cities and provinces in Vietnam such as Hanoi, Bac Ninh and Hai Phong to provide practical guidance for manufacturers ready to transform from traditional manufacturing models to brand building and development models to compete in the global market.
It is known that currently more than 60% of products sold on Amazon come from third-party sales partners, including thousands of Vietnamese businesses.
Vietnamese businesses have achieved impressive growth, with the number of products sold by Vietnamese businesses on Amazon increasing by more than 300% over the past 5 years.
Each year, these businesses export and sell millions of products to Amazon customers around the world.
