28 students and teachers hospitalized: Not poisoning, due to heat?

28 students and teachers at Marie Curie School in Binh Duong were hospitalized, but authorities said it was not due to food poisoning, but suspected to be due to the heat.

As of the afternoon of March 21, regarding the case of 28 people (23 students and 5 teachers) being hospitalized at a school, the leader of the Department ofEducation and Training of Thu Dau Mot City (Binh Duong Province) said that the cause of hospitalization was determined not to be poisoning.

The reason students and teachers were hospitalized was due to the hot weather, students played a lot leading to heat shock and fatigue.

According to initial information, at noon on March 20, 28 students and teachers at the school had to be hospitalized for treatment due to fatigue and nausea.

After being hospitalized, the group of students and teachers were examined and treated by doctors. On the afternoon of March 20, 19 students and 5 teachers were discharged from the hospital and were advised by doctors to monitor at home.

By noon on March 21, two of the four students had been discharged from the hospital, and the remaining two students were expected to be discharged that afternoon.

Also on March 21, Marie Curie Primary and Secondary School had a working session with the Food Safety and Hygiene Department, Thu Dau Mot City Health Department and Thu Dau Mot City Medical Center.

At the meeting, the Food Safety and Hygiene Department concluded that the incident at the school was not related to food poisoning.
