250 projects and works officially inaugurated and started construction to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day

The ceremony was held online from the central point (Vietnam Exhibition Center, Hanoi) to 79 points in 34 provinces and cities.

On the morning of August 19, nationwide, groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies for 250 works and projects were held simultaneously at 80 locations to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

The program was broadcast live on VTV1 - Vietnam Television. This is an unprecedented television event, with 80 out of 250 projects selected as live and online television bridges.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, and former Standing Member of the Secretariat Le Hong Anh attended the groundbreaking ceremony and inauguration of 250 projects at the central bridge point.

Attending the event at the central bridge were General Secretary To Lam; Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; former Politburo member, former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; former Politburo member, former Standing member of the Secretariat Le Hong Anh; Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai.

Also attending were members of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, leaders of ministries, central and local agencies.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long attended the inauguration ceremony of the Hanoi Law University campus 2 project in Bac Ninh.

Former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh attended the inauguration ceremony of the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project across the Tien River connecting Dong Thap with Vinh Long.

At the ceremony, 250 projects and works in 34 provinces/cities that met the conditions were simultaneously inaugurated (89 projects) and started construction (161 projects). Of these 250 projects, there were 8 important national projects, 46 group A projects; 155 group B projects and 41 group C projects.

By sector, there are 59 projects and works in transport infrastructure; 44 projects and works in civil and urban construction; 57 projects and works in industrial construction; 36 projects and works in technical infrastructure; and 22 projects and works in social housing.

Agriculture and rural development has 6 projects and works; Culture and Sports has 3 projects and works; Education has 12 projects and works; National Defense has 1 project; Health has 10 projects and works.

The total investment of projects and works is 1,280,000 billion VND. Of which, the State capital is 478,000 billion VND with 129 projects (accounting for 37% of the total) and 802,000 billion VND from other capital with 121 projects (accounting for 63% of the total, including 5 FDI projects with a capital of 54,000 billion VND).

Vietnam Exhibition Center has a scale of over 900,000 m², indoor exhibition area up to 304,000 m².

Speaking at the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony of the projects and works, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh said that the 250 projects and works that were started and inaugurated in 34 provinces and cities today are all important works of strategic significance, symbols of the aspirations and will to rise of the entire nation, vivid evidence of the achievements in developing the country's infrastructure, demonstrating the determination of the Party, State and people in building a rich, civilized and modern Vietnam.

Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is a bridge across the Tien River, connecting Dong Thap and Vinh Long provinces. The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project is an important traffic project in the Mekong Delta region.

"The inauguration and commencement of projects create a solid foundation for our country to enter a new development phase - "the era of national growth", contributing to realizing the goal of double-digit economic growth in the coming years.

The projects started and inaugurated today are not only symbols of development but also a commitment to the future.

With the spirit of patriotic emulation, let us together lay more solid bricks on the foundation of building a strong, prosperous and civilized country in the coming period," said Minister Tran Hong Minh.
