This is the 3rd year and also the 4th season of this chess project. The project was initiated and developed by the Vietnam Chess Federation since 2023. This year, the project comes to Mother's Love Shelter 2 (Thuan An Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Binh Duong ).
The project aims to bring 100,000 chess sets and 1,000 volunteer coaches to orphans, disabled children and children in difficult circumstances at shelters, SOS villages and disadvantaged residential areas across the country.
This year's program includes 8 study sessions at Mother's Love Shelter 2. The children not only learn chess, but also experience zumba, gymnastics, group communication and performing arts.
Not only the lessons, the program also organizes the Happy Chess & Friendship 2025 Tournament. Notably, the tournament takes place right at the closing ceremony, as a gift to completely close the exciting summer for the children.
Not focusing on winning or losing, the tournament attracted the enthusiastic competitive spirit of the children, with every move, every look, every bright smile.

More specifically, the project includes teaching with the ChessUp smart chess board version 2 - a modern technology product, applying artificial intelligence to support learning and practicing chess.
Through this project, the Vietnam Chess Federation hopes that, regardless of the circumstances of birth, every child deserves access to modern technology and fair learning methods like other children.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Jane Nguyen - the project founder - emotionally shared: "We do not only teach children how to play chess and physical fitness. We also want them to know how to rise up in life, with alertness, courage, and a loving heart."
