Please do not organize tours to the railway cafe.

Kinhtedothi - Hanoi Department of Tourism has just issued Official Letter No. 221/SDL-QLHH, requesting that travel businesses in the city not take tourists to the railway coffee business area.

Accordingly, the Hanoi Department of Tourism requires travel agencies in Hanoi not to introduce or organize tours to bring customers to the railway coffee business area, especially the areas of Cua Nam, Hang Bong and Cua Dong wards (Hoan Kiem).

In addition, the Department of Tourism requires businesses providing travel services and transporting tourists to seriously implement the regulations to ensure railway traffic safety and urban order. At the same time, businesses must also coordinate with authorities to promptly detect, prevent and handle related violations.

Previously, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, had repeatedly requested to handle the business situation in the railway traffic safety corridor, especially in the Tran Phu and Phung Hung areas. However, violations still recurred when domestic and foreign tourists continued to gather at coffee shops to wait for trains, despite the danger. Many shops even publicly posted train schedules to attract customers.

The Vietnam Railway Authority has also sent a document to the Hanoi People's Committee requesting measures to prevent and disperse crowded gatherings of people filming, taking photos, and drinking coffee in the railway safety corridor.

To thoroughly handle the situation, Hang Bong, Cua Nam, and Cua Dong wards have organized forces to stand guard, propagate and mobilize people to comply with the Railway Law. They have hung warning signs of “dangerous areas” in various languages at the beginning of Tran Phu, Nguyen Thai Hoc, and Dien Bien Phu crossroads. At the same time, local authorities are revoking the Business Registration Certificates of violating households.

Despite being punished many times, the “train street coffee” business still occurs, posing a serious risk to traffic safety. The Hanoi Department of Tourism’s ban on organizing tours to this area is a strong measure to protect the safety of tourists.
