Yen Binh aquatic product output reached nearly 4,300 tons

Since the beginning of this year, aquaculture output in Yen Binh district has been nearly 4,300 tons, reaching 46% of the plan, up nearly 34% over the same period in 2024.

Taking advantage of the 19,000 hectares of Thac Ba Lake water surface, in recent times, Yen Binh district has actively invited and created favorable conditions for businesses and cooperatives to invest and apply technical advances in cage fish farming to effectively exploit the potential of Thac Ba Lake water surface.

Currently, on Thac Ba Lake, there are 2 enterprises, 5 cooperatives, 13 cooperative groups and over 300 households raising fish in cages, nets... Thanks to that, since the beginning of this year, the aquaculture output of the whole district has been exploited nearly 4,300 tons, reaching 46% of the plan, an increase of nearly 34% over the same period in 2024.

By 2025, the aquaculture and exploitation area of Yen Binh district will be about 800 hectares; develop stably over 2,200 fish cages; strive for aquaculture and exploitation output to reach over 9,200 tons. To achieve this goal, communes in Yen Binh district encourage the maximum exploitation of water surface area to develop aquaculture suitable for each locality in a sustainable manner, protecting the ecological environment; focus on improving productivity, quality, added value and competitiveness of products. Integrate investment capital sources, encourage socialization to promote the application of intensive and highly intensive farming measures to improve productivity and product quality.

Continue to develop and expand cooperatives, cooperatives, joint venture models, and links between organizations and individuals in the form of cooperation associated with the new rural development program; develop linkage chains in the production and consumption of aquatic products; strongly transform the structure of crops and livestock from ineffective low-lying fields to aquaculture.
