The goal is to bring maximum convenience and fairness to candidates.
In 2025, the total number of candidates registered for the exam will reach 852,000 with 7.6 million wishes for more than 4,000 majors and training programs of more than 400 universities and colleges nationwide.
The admission regulations allow candidates to register for multiple wishes without having to choose a method or combination of admissions; the admission software system will automatically select the method or combination of admissions that is most beneficial for the candidate.
Therefore, the total number of actual admission wishes that must be considered on the system is up to over 50 million (each industry wish considered according to each method and admission combination is considered as one wish on the system), an increase of about 2 times compared to 2024.
The consistent policy of the Ministry and schools is to transfer difficult and complicated tasks to themselves and apply technology to solve them, bringing maximum convenience and fairness to candidates. From the registration process, paying fees to confirming admission, candidates do it entirely online.
To meet the higher demands of 2025, the general enrollment support software system (including the virtual selection and filtering system) has been upgraded. Although there was an initial overload, it was promptly resolved and completed processing, providing data to schools for timely announcement on August 22.
The Ministry of Education and Training also increased the time and number of virtual filtering times for schools to carefully review data and minimize errors. At the same time, after announcing the benchmark scores, schools will continue to need 2 to 3 days to review, correct errors and complete the list of successful candidates, notify candidates, and update the Ministry's system to serve candidates to confirm their admission.
Thus, from August 22 to August 24, candidates who are admitted to a school will be notified of their admission and can look it up on the information portal provided by the school.
For the Northern group of schools conducting joint admissions, the announcement of the list of successful candidates is undertaken by Hanoi University of Science and Technology as the host unit under the authorization of the schools in the group.
Candidates who do not receive notification of admission or because the school has not completed updating data, has not announced the list of admitted candidates or there are errors.
From 8:00 a.m. on August 25, after most schools uploaded their admission list data, the Ministry of Education and Training reopened the general admission support system for candidates to confirm their enrollment.
The system is operating completely stably. By 12 noon on August 26, more than 560,000 candidates had successfully confirmed their enrollment (exceeding the total number of candidates admitted in the first batch of 2024).
Most of the errors have been resolved in accordance with regulations.
The Ministry of Education and Training said that with such a large amount of data, along with diverse admission methods and conditions of universities and colleges, errors are inevitable, even at a very small rate.
As in previous years, these errors were mainly due to errors in admission input data (admission methods, conditions, admission criteria, evidence of candidates' priorities, foreign language certificates, etc.), and some errors were due to manual operations by some schools during the admission process.
However, due to careful preparation and experience from previous years, the number of actual errors has decreased significantly compared to 2024. The Ministry of Education and Training and universities and colleges have assigned staff to work on hotlines to receive feedback and questions from candidates and parents through many channels (via phone numbers and emails on the general admission support system) and coordinate to handle and resolve immediately for the legitimate interests of candidates.
Since the evening of August 23, every day the Ministry's admissions department has received and forwarded to schools for processing about 20 to 30 complaints from candidates through all channels.
According to the admission regulations, resolving errors is the responsibility of the schools. If necessary, the Ministry will support, guide and direct other universities to coordinate the handling.
After listening to feedback on major errors of a number of higher education institutions, the Ministry of Education and Training has promptly directed and guided, and so far most of the errors have been resolved in accordance with regulations.
Based on the situation of enrollment, admission, error handling of schools and data across the system, the Ministry of Education and Training affirms that: university and college enrollment in 2025 up to now is taking place on schedule, meeting requirements, ensuring the rights of candidates; the general enrollment system is operating stably.
The cases that have not been able to access information in the past few days are because the schools have not completed reviewing and completing the data. All cases with errors will be resolved promptly and in accordance with regulations. All candidates who meet the admission requirements will definitely be notified of their admission in time to enroll on time.
In case the press agency receives information or feedback about errors in the admission process that may affect the rights of candidates, it is requested to promptly provide it to the Ministry of Education and Training (Department of Higher Education) for consideration, handling, and ensuring the rights of candidates.
The Ministry of Education and Training will continue to listen, study and absorb feedback to have directions to adjust admission regulations, admission plans and direct universities and colleges to perform better in the coming years.
