Tanker truck explodes while refueling, 1 person injured

According to initial information, at around 11am on October 15, people suddenly heard a loud explosion, followed by a column of black smoke rising, and a tanker truck burning fiercely at the City Gas Station. located on Quan Lo - Phung Hiep route (in Phuoc Long town, Phuoc Long district, Bac Lieu province).

According to a leader of the People's Committee of Phuoc Long town, at the time of the incident, the tanker truck was refueling at the City Gas Station. Then the pump pipe suddenly exploded, causing the vehicle to catch fire, with a column of smoke dozens of meters high.

At the scene, the tanker truck burned fiercely and was severely damaged, then the fire spread to the area near the gas station warehouse.

Upon receiving the information, Phuoc Long District Police quickly dispatched forces and specialized fire trucks to the scene to help put out the fire and regulate traffic.

About 20 minutes later, the fire was completely extinguished.

The fire caused a gas station employee to suffer minor burns to his face and was taken to Phuoc Long District Medical Center for treatment. The tanker driver was also taken to the medical facility due to panic.

"The incident caused about 50% damage to 5 gas stations and completely damaged the gas pipelines," added the leader of Phuoc Long town.
