Implementing the Ecological Coffee Production and Natural Forest Improvement Project (PFFP), in 2024, the Quang Tri Provincial Agricultural Extension Center supported households to build a green corridor model to demarcate the boundaries of people's production with natural forest land.
The model was deployed in plots 4 and 5 of Sub-area 651, Chenh Venh village, Huong Phung commune, Huong Hoa district, on an area of 0.776 ha. The corridor road is 517 m long and 1.5 m wide. The Agricultural Extension Center has coordinated with the Forest Protection Department of Huong Hoa district, the People's Committee of Huong Phung commune and the PFFP project throughout the model implementation process, while providing training and guidance on planting and care techniques, applying manual vegetation treatment methods, and not burning the vegetation after treatment.

The model has planted 285 giổi trees for seeds, 142 soapberry trees, and 142 jackfruit coffee trees. The seedlings planted ensure the proposed technical requirements.
So far, the inspection shows that the plants are growing well, with a survival rate of 99%. In the coming time, the Agricultural Extension Center will continue to monitor, direct, care for, prevent pests and diseases, and provide guidance on fertilization in the first year.
The implementation of the pilot project of the green corridor model will demarcate the boundary between people's production areas and natural forests, thereby supporting the isolation of production areas and intervening in livelihood activities, improving production and cultivation capacity, contributing to helping people in mountainous districts improve their economic life and minimize negative impacts on natural forests.
