Checking the production and business situation of some enterprises exporting goods to the United States

On the afternoon of April 8, Comrade Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council visited and inspected the production and business situation of a number of enterprises in Nguyen Duc Canh Industrial Park and Phuc Khanh Industrial Park (Thai Binh City). According to the report, in 2024, the export turnover to the US market of enterprises in the province will reach 571.164 million USD, accounting for about 20% of the total export turnover of the province. Key industries include leather shoes, garments, US dollars, etc. Some enterprises with a large proportion of exports to the US include: Tan De Company reaching 83.492 million USD (15%); TAV Company Limited (Viet My Garment) reaching 154.382 million USD (27%); Tactician Industrial Company Limited reaching 8.815 million USD (1.5%).

During a site inspection at TAV Company Limited (Nguyen Duc Canh Industrial Park), a company representative said that about 80-90% of the company's garment products are exported to the United States, the rest to Europe and Japan. Up to now, the production situation has been basically stable. In response to information that the United States may adjust taxes on Vietnamese goods, the company has developed a production plan to ensure the plan to reach at least 16 million products in the year, limiting the impact until the end of 2025 if the new tax policy is applied. In the long term, the company is also considering expanding its export market to the European region.

For Tactician Company (Phuc Khanh Industrial Park) - a unit specializing in manufacturing components and metal household architectural items, with a capacity of about 3,700 tons of products/year, 100% of output is exported to the United States. Facing the risk of being taxed, the company sent a letter to its partners and at the same time developed a suitable production and business plan if the policy is implemented.

Speaking at the inspection, Comrade Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactiveness of enterprises in building appropriate business strategies and responding to policy risks from the United States. He requested that enterprises continue to proactively develop response scenarios, even in the worst case scenario; at the same time, strengthen governance innovation, flexibly seek new markets, maintain stable production, ensure jobs and income for workers, especially highly skilled workers. He affirmed that the provincial leaders always accompany enterprises, especially FDI enterprises and enterprises using many workers, commit to providing maximum support within their capacity, and are ready to coordinate to remove difficulties to maintain production, creating conditions for enterprises to develop stably and sustainably.
