The project is 15.5km long, including 2 lanes for motor vehicles, 2 lanes for non-motor vehicles, and a 7m wide road surface. The project will complete 3 existing bridges (Minh Rong, Nausri, Au Co) 12m wide and build a new overpass to completely cover the area where the road surface has subsided.
The Bao Loc City bypass completion project will build a viaduct over the subsidence area.
Previously, at this project, SGGP Newspaper reported the unfinished construction status causing unsafety and hindering people's lives. This project, which was started in 2017, is a supplementary item using the remaining capital of the project to restore and renovate National Highway 20 through Lam Dong and Dong Nai provinces under the BT form, invested by BT20 - Cuu Long Joint Stock Company.
However, in 2020, the project was forced to suspend construction due to lack of capital.
In August 2023, this route experienced serious subsidence, which has not yet been fixed. Also on this route, because it has not been officially accepted for use, some sections have not ensured safe traffic conditions, and many serious traffic accidents causing deaths have occurred.
Because the road has not been accepted, the paradox is that when people step out of the door, they enter a "forbidden road", making their daily life and production face many difficulties and obstacles.
The resumption of construction will fix the damaged and degraded condition of the road, in order to meet traffic volume, overcome overload, and limit transit transport on National Highway 20 not passing through Bao Loc City.
