On the evening of June 26, at the Independence Palace National Historical Site, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives organized the program "Continuing pride - Origin of happiness" to celebrate its 36th anniversary. Established in 1989, Saigon Co.op from "Ho Chi Minh City Trading Cooperative" has now successfully developed nearly 1,000 points of sale in a variety of modern commercial segments; including: a system of convenience stores to supermarkets, hypermarkets, shopping centers and e-commerce.
In particular, the Co.opmart supermarket model, first established by Saigon Co.op, is considered the first purely Vietnamese modern retail platform in Vietnam.
Up to now, Co.opmart has become a close and familiar symbol, contributing to affirming the position of Vietnamese goods in the modern retail market, serving the practical needs of Vietnamese consumers with quality, dedication and Vietnamese identity values.
Currently, the Co.opmart system has more than 120 supermarkets nationwide with average sales of more than 30,000 billion VND per year.
According to Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saigon Co.op Vu Anh Khoa, the unit always adheres to the mission of a cooperative for the community, contributing to ensuring social security, encouraging spirit and actively responding to the Campaign, gradually raising the value chain of Vietnamese goods in the market.
On the new journey, Saigon Co.op promotes digital transformation, optimizes the retail ecosystem with brands such as Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Co.op Smile, Finelife, Cheers Sense City, SenseMarket..., bringing consumers modern experiences.
Recently, Saigon Co.op has created the work “Vietnam Map made from 50 thousand photos of happy smiles taken with the National Flag”, through the form of a cross-Vietnam bus trip. On the north-south journey, the bus stopped at 50 stations, attracting customers to “check-in” and take photos with the Vietnamese National Flag.
This activity was also held online to spread love for the homeland and country. At the same time, for each recorded photo, Saigon Co.op donated 5,000 VND to carry out social security projects.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Record Organization (Vietkings) established a Vietnamese record for the work "Vietnam Map made from 50 thousand photos of happy smiles taken with the National Flag".
According to VietKings, the work is not only a creative communication activity but also a symbol of unity and spreading love for the country through the image of the red flag with yellow star - the sacred symbol of the Vietnamese people.
Being recognized as a Vietnamese record affirms Saigon Co.op's role in connecting the community and serving society.
