Shooting in Kentucky leaves four dead

Police were called to the 2600 block of Ridgecrest Road, where they found four people dead and three others in critical condition. The injured were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The unidentified assailant fled the scene before police arrived, leading to a dramatic pursuit. The pursuit ended on Dale Heimbrock Way when the suspect crashed into a ditch. Police found the suspect with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and took him to St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The Florence Church of God confirmed on Facebook that the shooting occurred during a birthday party after an intruder opened fire. Among the victims were a mother who was shot dead and her daughter who was injured.

Police are still investigating at the scene of the shooting. Authorities have confirmed that the three injured victims are in critical but stable condition.

The suspect has a history of violent crimes, police said. Several neighbors reported hearing gunshots and seeing smoke coming from the scene. Authorities are investigating the motive for the shooting.
