The entire Hoa Lac commune currently has 29 martyrs, 27 wounded soldiers, 20 sick soldiers, 34 people exposed to toxic chemicals, and 15 cases of genetic sequelae. The Party Committee, government, and people of the commune have always made efforts to care for the lives of those with meritorious services; 100% of those with meritorious services enjoy full benefits and policies.
In 2025, the commune mobilized the "Repaying gratitude" Fund to raise more than 150 million VND; presented 333 gifts from the President, Hanoi City and the commune to 110 families of meritorious people with a budget of more than 303 million VND; at the same time, organized many practical activities such as house repair, livelihood support, and medical care for meritorious people.
At the conference, representatives of war invalids, martyrs’ relatives, and the Veterans Association of Hoa Lac commune were moved to express their deep gratitude for the attention of the Party, State, and local authorities. The delegates affirmed: They are always proud to have contributed their blood and bones to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. Despite their old age and weak health, they still vow to be shining examples, continuing to contribute to the development of their homeland and educating the revolutionary tradition to the younger generation.
Secretary of the Commune Party Committee and Chairman of the Hoa Lac Commune People's Council, Dong Phuoc An, affirmed that taking care of people with meritorious services is a regular, long-term, and sacred political task. Comrade Dong Phuoc An praised the exemplary war invalids and sick soldiers who have overcome difficulties and risen up in life.
In the context of Hoa Lac commune operating under a two-level government model with many difficulties and challenges, war invalids, sick soldiers, martyrs' families and people with meritorious services continue to promote the revolutionary tradition, being a shining example for the younger generation; actively participating in patriotic emulation movements, accompanying the government to build a great national unity bloc, contributing to building Hoa Lac increasingly civilized and modern, becoming a model urban area in the West of the Capital.
On this occasion, the Military Ceremonial Delegation, the General Staff and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune presented 18 gifts to relatives of martyrs' families.
