Major Nguyen Van Tien, a staff member of the Cultivation Department, Production and Political Base Construction Team 2, Economic-Defense Group 925, has a family in Tan Chau ward, An Giang province.

As soon as the unit (the Military Command of Tan Chau town, former An Giang province) announced the registration to work at the Economic-Defense Group 925, Major Nguyen Van Tien volunteered, even though the new unit was 200km away from his home ward. It is known that Tien's family has 2 children, the older child just graduated from grade 12, the younger child is about to enter grade 6. When he registered to work on the island, his family was worried because their husband and father would be working far from home in difficult conditions.

Colonel Vu Huy Thuy, Head of Economic -Defense Group 925, awarded professional soldier decisions to subordinate units.

“I have encouraged my wife and children to let them understand that this is a very proud task. The newly established unit will have certain difficulties, but the more challenges we face, the more we are trained. Not only me but all officers and soldiers of Economic-Defense Group 925 are ready to receive and complete all assigned tasks well,” said Major Nguyen Van Tien.

Receiving a new assignment nearly 200km away from home, when the youngest child was just born, the oldest child was in first grade, the family did not live with both parents, that was the situation of Major Vuong Thanh Phong, Political Commissar of Tan An Tay Coast Base, Economic-Defense Group 925. Despite the difficulties, comrade Phong was always optimistic, clearly showing his determination: "Working far from home, but with the encouragement and support of my family, I always feel secure in my work. In the new unit, new area, I always try my best, strive, and with my teammates in the unit, I am determined to complete the tasks well."

The Party Committee of Economic-Defense Group 925 held a conference for the first 6 months of 2025.

These are two of many cases where officers and soldiers of Economic-Defense Group 925 put aside personal matters and were ready to accept new tasks.

Colonel Vu Huy Thuy, Head of the 925th Military Economic Group, said: “As a newly established unit, the material conditions are still difficult, but the Group always receives timely attention and direction from the Party Committee and the Military Region Command. Currently, the Group has been operating in a disciplined manner, with proper organization and staffing; 100% of officers, employees and soldiers are mentally secure, clearly identify their tasks, overcome difficulties, and are determined to complete all tasks well from the first day, the first week, and the first month.”

Economic-Defense Group 925 launched the peak emulation campaign "Raise high the August red flag - Compete to win 3 first prizes".

In the coming time, the Party Committee and the Command of the Group will continue to focus on leading and directing the subordinate units to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the policies and instructions of the superiors on military and national defense, combining economy with national defense, building and protecting the Fatherland in the new period. Actively coordinate with local Party committees and authorities to guide and support people in aquaculture, seafood farming, fishing logistics services, rescue and relief, truly be a reliable support for local Party committees, authorities and people, a solid foundation for people to go offshore and stick to the sea.
