Surpassing the 400 billion VND mark, Red Rain sets a double record

After more than 11 days of release, the movie Red Rain has officially surpassed the 400 billion VND revenue mark to become the highest-grossing Vietnamese film in 2025, and set a record for the film with the highest revenue in one day.

According to statistics from the independent box office website Box Office Vietnam, as of 7am on September 2, Red Rain has officially surpassed the 400 billion VND revenue mark. Director Dang Thai Huyen's work also reached this milestone the fastest in the history of Vietnamese films, surpassing Mai - a film that reached the 400 billion VND mark after nearly 12 days of release.

Red Rain is still holding the No. 1 position on the daily revenue chart with more than 25 billion VND, 257,455 tickets sold and 5,560 screenings.

Previously, according to Box Office Vietnam, during the 3-day weekend from August 29 to 31, Red Rain also achieved a record high revenue of more than 122 billion VND. Notably, by the evening of August 31, the film surpassed The Four Guardians to become the highest-grossing film of 2025.

At the same time, the work also surpassed Mai to become the movie with the highest revenue in a day, earning more than 47 billion VND with nearly half a million tickets sold, the occupancy rate reached more than 68.33%. Previously, Mai had set a record revenue of 43.9 billion VND on February 14, 2024.

Immediately after that, on September 1, Red Rain broke its own record when it became the first Vietnamese film to reach a revenue of more than 50 billion VND (specifically about 54.5 billion VND) in 1 day with more than half a million tickets sold.

Not only in the two big cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the film has created a "sold out" fever in many provinces and cities across the country.

With the current growth rate, on September 2, Red Rain will surpass the movie Bo Gia (427 billion VND) to hold the 4th position on the list of Vietnamese movies with the highest revenue in the history of Vietnamese cinema.

Many industry experts predict that the film will surpass the records of Mrs. Nu's House (475 billion VND) and Lat mat 7: Mot giau uoc (483 billion VND) and even dethrone Mai (551 billion VND) to become the Vietnamese film with the highest revenue in the history of Vietnamese cinema.
