School meals accused of being unsafe: The chef who accused them has quit his job

Regarding the information that TV Primary School was accused of contracting with a food supplier that did not ensure quality to serve boarding meals for students as reported by Dan Tri newspaper, on September 17, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned Xuan Huong Ward People's Committee - Da Lat to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to inspect and clarify.

The province requested Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat to report the verification results to Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee on September 19.

On the same day, the Department of Education and Training of Lam Dong province informed that the unit also received a petition from a group of citizens, denouncing the Principal of TV Primary School for signing a contract with a food supplier that did not ensure quality to serve meals for boarding students at the school.

Currently, the Department has requested the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat to report on the process of receiving and handling the feedback.

Ms. NTQN, Principal of TV Primary School, said that the incident took place during the 2024-2025 school year. The complainants used to work in the school's kitchen and quit their jobs at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year.

Regarding the contents mentioned in the complaint, the Principal said that the school leaders are working with relevant agencies, but have not yet had results and refused to provide further information.

At noon on September 17, the TV Primary School kitchen staff still provided meals for boarding students. However, some parents were concerned that the meals were not safe, so they came to the school to pick up their students and take them home.

Previously, Dan Tri reported that on Facebook, an account named "Nguyen Thanh" posted information about a food supplier for TV school repeatedly delivering beef, shrimp, pork bones, and beef balls that did not meet quality standards.

According to the report, during the 2024-2025 school year, the food supplier repeatedly delivered to the TV school kitchen 10kg of smelly pork bones, showing signs of turning green; 35kg of frozen beef balls, smelly, without packaging or labels; 60kg of pork and after boiling, this meat had a dark green color, strange smell; 50kg of wet, smelly pre-sliced beef...

Regarding the times of receiving food with unusual signs, those who directly worked in the school kitchen reported to the school principal, requesting that the food be returned to the supplier or destroyed to ensure student safety.

However, the school leaders did not come up with drastic solutions, making the kitchen staff worried.
