The workshop was sponsored by the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05 - Ministry of Public Security ), the National Cyber Security Association (NCA) and the Vietnam Software & IT Services Association (VINASA), bringing together more than 300 delegates who are leaders of management agencies, technology and cybersecurity experts and many interested businesses.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Minh Chinh - Permanent Vice President of the National Cyber Security Association
Speaking at the orientation, Lieutenant General Nguyen Minh Chinh - Permanent Vice President of the National Cyber Security Association, former Director of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (Ministry of Public Security) affirmed that the Association will accompany the CYSEEX Information Security Alliance and orient the Alliance to promote cooperation between enterprises - agencies - organizations, increase the application of AI in cyber security, build an ecosystem to share data, experience and contribute to standards and advanced security solutions to protect the national cyberspace.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hoang - Chairman of CYSEEX Alliance, Vice Chairman of Board of Directors of MISA Joint Stock Company delivered the opening speech
Opening the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hoang - Chairman of CYSEEX Alliance, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of MISA Joint Stock Company emphasized: "CYSEEX 2025 workshop focuses on sharing knowledge about AI in security, thereby early identification of risks, attack forecasting, automating response to enhance system recovery. This is the foundation for creating a smart, proactive and sustainable security system for businesses and national cyberspace".
Mr. Nguyen Quang Hoang - Head of the CYSEEX exercise organizing committee, Director of Information Security, MISA Joint Stock Company
Opening the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Quang Hoang - Head of the CYSEEX exercise organizing committee, Director of Information Security of MISA Joint Stock Company - summarized the 2025 activities of the CYSEEX Information Security Alliance with 6 exercises detecting 315 vulnerabilities, 4/7 member units practicing phishing for more than 14,000 staff, and a common threat sharing platform with more than 100 million IoCs, helping to shorten the attack detection time by 40-50%. In the discussion "Active defense with Security Expert Digital Twin" , Mr. Hoang said that AI attacks have a success rate of up to 70%, far exceeding the manual method of 47.6%, forcing organizations to switch to the "machine-versus-machine" model. By 2026, Alliance members aim to reach AI maturity level 3, considering “digital twins” as a companion tool in monitoring, threat hunting, and incident response.
In the discussion "Who has the upper hand in cyber security?" , Mr. Vu Ngoc Son - Head of the Technology Department of the National Cyber Security Association, Director of NCS Technology - said that cyber security currently has both "dark areas" with the risk of sophisticated attacks, "gray areas" due to lack of human resources and strategy, and "bright areas" from the opportunity to master technology. Expert Vu Ngoc Son commented that AI can help detect abnormalities, analyze malware, automate processes but also pose challenges in terms of people, data, technology and finance. Therefore, AI is no longer an option but has become an inevitable requirement and whoever masters AI will have a competitive advantage.
Sharing about the global cybersecurity picture, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hai - Security Expert of Fortinet Vietnam said that the number of vulnerabilities, stolen data and AI attacks are increasing sharply. 2024 recorded 40,000 new vulnerabilities, more than 1.7 billion leaked identity information and a 600% increase in AI attacks; 80% of businesses plan to apply AI-enhanced SOC by 2025. Mr. Hai emphasized that AI is now the front line of cybersecurity, helping to detect risks early and automate responses to threats in cyberspace.
Dell Technologies representative, Mr. Cao Thuy - Solution Expert - said that when businesses expand AI applications, they will have to face cybersecurity risks such as data leaks, model manipulation and supply chain attacks. Therefore, businesses need a secure AI platform based on multiple layers of security, continuous monitoring and the ability to quickly restore from independent backup data, to help businesses maintain stable operations and apply AI sustainably.
Mr. Tran Quoc Long - Head of Solution Consulting, Vietsunshine Company - warned that AI is becoming a new tool for cybercriminals, helping to shorten the time of ransomware attacks from 13.5 hours to 3 hours, while the risk of "prompt injection" attacks makes threats increasingly sophisticated and difficult to detect. Mr. Long recommends that businesses soon apply AI in network monitoring, behavior analysis and sensitive data management, to detect risks early, automate responses and minimize damage.
CYSEEX Information Security Alliance commends and rewards groups and individuals with outstanding achievements
Also within the framework of the program, to recognize the tireless efforts, the CYSEEX Alliance has commended and rewarded groups and individuals who have had outstanding achievements in information security exercises. Specifically, the best Blueteam: MISA - The defense team has won the first prize many times; The best Redteam: Viettel Solution - The attack team has won the first prize many times; The member with the most valuable sharing article: Mobifone - Content about hardening the system to enhance security; The most progressive member: Bao Viet - Has invested a lot of resources, has won the excellent Blueteam many times.
Closing the workshop, the Chairman and members of the CYSEEX Alliance made a commitment to apply AI to detect and prevent risks early. Each member will always be proactive, together creating a safe cyberspace for the Vietnamese business community. The Alliance aims to improve members' capacity in exploiting AI tools, maintaining attack-defense drills, responding to incidents, strengthening anti-phishing and fraud prevention, and promoting knowledge sharing to improve the ability to protect information security in cyberspace.
CYSEEX Information Security Alliance (abbreviation of Cyber Security Exercise) is an alliance initiated by MISA with Sapo, Viettel Solutions, Bao Viet, Mobifone, Bravo, welcoming new member Giao Hang Tiet Kiem with the purpose of: Sharing knowledge and experience to help improve capacity in preventing and responding to information security incidents in cyberspace.
