On the afternoon of June 21, speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Cao Van Cuong - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Thanh Hoa - said that he had grasped the case of the authorities of Quang Nam province collecting a number of fish sauce bottles discarded on the roadside, including bottles with labels stating that they were produced in Thanh Hoa.

"After receiving the information, the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Thanh Hoa assigned the Department of Quality Control and Brand Development (under the department) to coordinate with local authorities to inspect the fish sauce production facility - the place stated in the label on the fish sauce bottle that the authorities of Quang Nam province had just collected. But up to now, the leaders of the department have not received a report on the inspection results.

Next week, when the Department of Quality Control and Brand Development has the test results, the Thanh Hoa Department of Agriculture and Environment will provide specific information," added Mr. Cao Van Cuong.

Regarding the incident, the fish sauce thrown on the roadside in Quang Nam province had a label of TH. Seafood Joint Stock Company, the address on the label on the bottle was No. 149, Le Lai Street, Dong Son Ward, Thanh Hoa City.

However, according to Tuoi Tre Online 's investigation, the above location does not have a sign bearing the name of TH Seafood Joint Stock Company. This is just a store selling plastic products, nylon bags and some household items.

As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , on the evening of June 18, people in Phuoc Loc village, Tam Thai commune, Phu Ninh district, Quang Nam discovered a large number of fish sauce bottles of unknown origin discarded and piled up on the roadside along Phu Ninh canal.

The bottles, ranging in volume from 500ml to 5 liters, contained a liquid the color of fish sauce, some still in intact cartons or sacks, lying in piles or scattered in bushes and grass.

On June 19, the Economic Police Department of Quang Nam Province Police coordinated with Tam Thai Commune Police and the Provincial Market Management Department to count and collect all fish sauce.

Statistics show that there are about 1,000 bottles of fish sauce, dipping sauce, and a few bottles of chili sauce, all of which have expired from several months to more than a year.

Most of the fish sauce bottles were labeled as "Anchovy Extract" and "Golden Anchovies". Some of the fish sauce bottles were labeled as being produced by a company located at a factory in Thanh Hoa.
