VietinBank - MUFG: Effective cooperation in implementing many initiatives to support Vietnam's development

In recent days, Mr. Hironori Kamezawa - General Director of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), a strategic partner of VietinBank, has visited and worked in Vietnam. On the afternoon of August 7, 2025, Mr. Hironori Kamezawa and the VietinBank Senior Leadership Delegation were received by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the Government Office; before that, Mr. Hironori Kamezawa and the VietinBank Senior Leadership Delegation had a meeting with Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Nguyen Thi Hong. This activity not only strengthens the strategic partnership between MUFG and VietinBank; but also affirms VietinBank's pioneering role in connecting and promoting cooperation between the Japanese business community and the Government and SBV of Vietnam.

On the afternoon of August 7, 2025, Mr. Hironori Kamezawa and the VietinBank Senior Leadership Delegation were received by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the Government Office. This is an important event, demonstrating the Vietnamese Government's appreciation of the strategic cooperation relationship with MUFG in particular and Japan in general.

At the event, Mr. Hironori Kamezawa reported on the results of cooperation with VietinBank and shared MUFG's future direction in Vietnam. MUFG General Director Hironori Kamezawa once again emphasized the practical contributions of MUFG and VietinBank - especially in organizing 6 Dialogue Conferences between the Prime Minister and Japanese enterprises; thereby contributing to improving the investment environment and promoting bilateral economic cooperation.

Notably, Governor Nguyen Thi Hong and Mr. Hironori Kamezawa both emphasized the role of MUFG in policy advice and drafting legal documents. As the Chair of the Banking Working Group for the 2023-2024 term, MUFG has become an effective bridge between the community of foreign credit institutions and the SBV, especially in the process of drafting important legal documents such as the Law on Credit Institutions 2024.
