During the program, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet visited and worked at the Vaptsarov Naval Academy. This is the first defense facility the Ambassador visited after meeting with Bulgarian Defense Minister A. Zapryanov on July 11.
At the working session with the Vaptsarov Naval Academy, the Ambassador shared about Minister A. Zapryanov's support for strengthening cooperation with Vietnam in the defense field; and pointed out a number of potential cooperation directions such as building a defense strategy/policy dialogue mechanism, enhancing annual exchanges and academic and experience exchanges between military training institutions of the two sides.
Appreciating the good traditional cooperation between the two countries in the field of training, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet affirmed that the two sides still have much room to promote bilateral cooperation in the coming time.
During the visit, the Ambassador also introduced to Rear Admiral Kalin Kalinov some of Vietnam's strengths in the maritime sector, emphasizing the desire to promote training cooperation with the Vaptsarov Naval Academy.

Rear Admiral Kalin Kalinov, Director of the Vaptsarov Naval Academy, said that the Academy currently trains 250 military students and 3,500 civilian students, of which 40-50% study information technology, and 8% are foreign students (the training institution has the second highest proportion of foreign students in Bulgaria, after Sofia Medical University).
The Academy is focusing on developing training in majors such as information technology, cyber security, especially aerospace (in Bulgaria, only Vaptsarov Naval Academy and Sofia University teach this major). The Academy has training programs in Bulgarian or English, lasting 4 years.
Appreciating the academic achievements of Vietnamese students at the school during the 2010-2014 period, the Director of the Academy affirmed his desire to promote cooperation with Vietnam to attract civil students in the maritime field, as well as support cooperation connections with a Vietnamese maritime university.

During the working trip, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet visited the Dolphin Shipyard. At the meeting, Factory Director Advisor Plamen Manushev said that the Dolphin Shipyard was established in 1991, currently has more than 550 highly qualified technicians/experts and 200 contract employees. The Dolphin Shipyard is capable of building and repairing ships; has quality certification licenses from the European Union (EU), the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and many international maritime organizations.

Praising the development of the Vietnamese economy , especially the shipbuilding industry, Mr. Plamen Manushev expressed his desire to cooperate with Vietnamese enterprises, first of all in the field of labor supply. Currently, Bulgaria is seriously lacking in labor in the mechanical engineering and ship repair industries, especially skilled workers.
Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet shared some of the achievements in the meeting between the Ambassador and Minister of Labor and Social Policy B. Gutsanov; at the same time, she affirmed that the Embassy will support Dolphin Shipyard and Bulgarian enterprises to connect with Vietnamese enterprises to meet the needs of mutually beneficial cooperation of both sides.
