At the reception, Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh respectfully conveyed the congratulations of the leaders of the Lao Ministry of Culture and Tourism to the Party Central Committee member, Minister Nguyen Van Hung and all officials, civil servants and public employees of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam.
She affirmed that over the past 80 years, Vietnam has achieved many comprehensive achievements, in which the fields of culture, sports and tourism have made important contributions to the common development.
The Ambassador emphasized that the recent highlight of cooperation was the successful submission of the dossier of Hin Nam No National Park (Kham Muon Province, Laos) to UNESCO for recognition as a World Natural Heritage Site along with Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park ( Quang Binh , Vietnam) to become the first transboundary World Natural Heritage Site of the two countries. This is a testament to the close and affectionate cooperation between the two nations. The Ambassador hoped that in the coming time, the two ministries would continue to coordinate in organizing heritage promotion events to contribute to attracting international tourists to both Vietnam and Laos.

Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy expressed her deep gratitude for the warm feelings and congratulations of the Ambassador and staff of the Lao Embassy, especially on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnamese cultural sector.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always cherish the special, loyal and steadfast solidarity that the Lao Party, State and people have given to Vietnam in the struggle for independence as well as in the cause of national construction and development.
In the fields of culture, sports and tourism, the two sides have achieved many practical cooperation results. The Deputy Minister expressed his gratitude for Laos' recognition of "Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail on Lao soil" as a national historical relic of Laos on August 22, 2025. For important heritages such as Hin Nam No National Park or Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail, the two Ministries need to develop effective action programs to preserve and promote cultural values with a long-term orientation.
Regarding the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Park construction project in Vientiane, the Deputy Minister informed that with the close direction of the Government and the attention of senior leaders of the two countries, the project is being actively implemented, expected to be completed and handed over to Laos in 2025. In the coming time, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam will closely coordinate with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Laos to organize the Lao Cultural Week in Vietnam in October in Hanoi and Thanh Hoa.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue to strengthen effective coordination in the fields of culture, sports, tourism and information and communication, contributing to consolidating and developing the special friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
