On January 23, the Ministry of Public Security reported on a particularly serious traffic accident that occurred at Km 36+400, La Son - Hoa Lien Expressway, Hoa Bac Commune (Hoa Vang District, Da Nang).

According to the report, at 0:30 on January 23, at Km36+400, Ho Chi Minh road, La Son - Hoa Lien section, a 45-seat passenger car running on the Dak Lak - Hai Duong route, driven by driver Phuong Thanh Tung (36 years old, residing in Dak Lak province), carrying 22 people, plunged into a deep ravine.

According to authorities, the preliminary cause of the accident was rain and fog, which limited visibility and the driver falling asleep.

Traffic Police, Fire Prevention and Fighting Police and Rescue Police of Da Nang urgently approached the scene to rescue the victims and search for them.

However, due to the deep terrain, rainy, foggy and dark weather, rescue work encountered many difficulties.

Authorities are continuing to carry out rescue work and support the victims. At the same time, they are investigating and verifying the cause of the accident to handle it according to the law.
