In the first 6 months of 2025, the textile and garment industry in Ha Tinh received positive signals with an abundant number of orders for export to Japan, Korea, the US and the European market.

In order to improve competitiveness in the market, recently, enterprises have focused on investing in technology, modern machinery, and applying technical solutions to increase product quantity and improve labor productivity to ensure contract progress. However, the biggest difficulty at present is the shortage of labor resources.
Appareltech Ha Tinh Garment Export Company Limited (Duc Tho Commune) currently has 1,400 workers. Following the recent wave of job displacement, the company is lacking many unskilled workers while there are many export orders until the end of the second quarter of 2026.
To meet the orders, the company needs to recruit more than 200 workers. Although it has actively connected with the Provincial and local Employment Centers to find labor sources, the number of applications submitted is still insignificant.

Mr. Kwon Soon Cheol - General Director of Appareltech Ha Tinh Garment Export Company Limited said: "The company's goal is to expand production and business, seek large orders, and create a stable source of income for the people here. However, due to difficulties in recruiting workers, the company can only receive small orders, and cannot meet large orders."
A similar labor shortage also occurred at MTV Garment Export Joint Stock Company (Bac Cam Xuyen Industrial Park). Although the textile industry is always in a state of labor fluctuation, the company has focused on recruiting workers at all times.
"Currently, the company has 200 employees working in 5 production lines and is in need of opening 3 new production lines, needing 100 more workers. In addition, it needs to add 50 more workers to work at the northern branch of Can Loc commune. Although the company has posted recruitment information on many information channels, it has not yet recruited enough jobs according to demand" - Mr. Dinh Van Giang, Chairman of the Trade Union of MTV Garment Export Joint Stock Company shared.
Not only the above units, but at this time, many textile and garment enterprises are also "red-eyed" looking for workers. Specifically: Nghi Xuan Pro Sports Garment Factory needs to recruit 500 workers; Haivina Hong Linh Company Limited needs to recruit 500 workers; Five Star Ha Tinh Garment Company needs 500 workers.

The huge recruitment needs of textile and garment enterprises are job opportunities for local workers.
At Song La Xanh Packaging Joint Stock Company (Duc Tho commune), although the company has implemented many solutions to attract workers such as: New workers are supported with 4 months of basic salary, support for meals, gasoline, ensuring full benefits for workers... However, the company is also facing the fact that some workers will soon quit their jobs, which means the company will continue to recruit new workers.
Mr. Nguyen Van Son - Chairman of the Trade Union of Song La Xanh Packaging Joint Stock Company said: Currently, the Company has 450 employees, according to the production plan, the Company is looking for 100 more employees to open a new production line. However, in the current context, it is very difficult to recruit workers, so the unit is having to recalculate the opening of a new production line appropriately.
According to a survey by the Ha Tinh Employment Service Center, in the first 6 months of 2025, textile and garment enterprises in the area have a need to recruit nearly 8,000 workers. However, businesses are facing many difficulties in finding workers.
According to Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien - Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Employment Service Center, the reason is that the salary and welfare regimes offered by enterprises are still not attractive to workers, while the increasing number of enterprises has created great competition in the labor market. In addition, there are also many workers who only work temporarily, still have the mentality of "job hopping", lack industrial style, lack perseverance, do not meet the job requirements but require high salaries, beyond the ability of enterprises to pay... The lack of a common voice between enterprises and employees is the main reason, leading to garment enterprises always being in a state of labor shortage.

To solve the problem of labor shortage in general and in the textile industry in particular, Mr. Ngo Dinh Van - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation said that workers are not only an important link in the production cycle, but also a decisive factor in the success or failure of enterprises. Therefore, in the long term, enterprises need to improve welfare regimes and create a good working environment to attract and retain workers.
In addition, businesses need to focus on building harmonious and stable labor relations. In particular, one of the core factors to maintain this relationship is to create a harmony of interests between employees and businesses, considering employees as valuable assets of the business.
Along with that, workers need to identify the spirit of cooperation and accompany the enterprise in all circumstances, especially in difficult times. Only when the enterprise develops sustainably, the life of workers will be truly improved. This is a close two-way relationship, requiring efforts from both sides to work towards the common goal of enterprise development, workers having jobs and high and stable income.
