In the joyful atmosphere preparing for the grand celebration of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), Hanoi has deployed a series of measures to ensure environmental sanitation, meeting the needs of millions of people and tourists flocking to the capital to participate in parades and marches.
According to Official Dispatch No. 4833/UBND-TH dated August 27, 2025, the Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Construction, the People's Committees of wards and communes and related units to perform a series of tasks such as arranging enough public toilets, increasing sanitation capacity, and ensuring waste collection locations. At the same time, the city also stepped up propaganda to raise awareness of environmental sanitation in the community.
To serve the event with hundreds of thousands of participants, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment has installed and maintained 612 mobile toilets in key areas, including: Ba Dinh Square 230 toilets; Route to the stands: 203 toilets; Route from the stands to the outside: 90 toilets; Along the route: 75 toilets; Area serving the organizing force at 5 fireworks display locations: 14 toilets.
In addition, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has mobilized nearly 400 toilets from households, agencies, and schools in central wards such as Giang Vo, Ba Dinh, Ngoc Ha, Hai Ba Trung, Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam, Cua Nam, and Hoan Kiem.
These restrooms are marked with "Free Restroom" signs with friendly smiley faces, making them easy for people to recognize.

The special feature this year is the application of information technology to support quick toilet search. On the digital map A80/iHanoi (https://a80.hanoi.gov.vn/ban-do.htm), toilets are displayed with pink icons with standing people.
When you tap on the icon, the app provides detailed information about the address and direct directions via Google Maps.
This is the first time Hanoi has implemented this form in a large-scale event, helping to solve the long-standing difficulty of finding public toilets during holidays.
