On the evening of July 22, the National Economics University issued a notice on the threshold to ensure input quality (floor score) and equivalent conversion of admission scores between regular university admission methods in 2025.
In the announcement, the National Economics University said that the school uses 4 combinations A00, A01, D01, D07 at the same time, but does not set a difference in admission scores, meaning it does not reduce the standard score of D01 and combinations with English subjects.

Through analyzing the 2025 high school graduation exam score data, Thanh Nien Newspaper found that the score distribution of combinations with English subjects used by many schools as admission combinations, especially D01, is much lower than combination A00.
Based on the above characteristics, Hanoi University of Science and Technology has announced a regulation to reduce 0.5 points for D01 and D04 (compared to the remaining combinations) when determining the benchmark for a major using multiple combinations at the same time. Foreign Trade University also announced a reduction of 1 point for D01, A01 compared to A00 when determining the benchmark.
However, the National Economics University has decided not to reduce the standard score for combinations with English subjects, including D01.
Speaking with Thanh Nien Newspaper, Dr. Le Anh Duc, Head of Training Management Department, National Economics University, said that the number of candidates using English in group D01 for admission to National Economics University is not too large, because those with good English have used IELTS certificates.
Furthermore, the benchmark scores of the majors of the National Economics University in previous years were generally in the high score segment, and with the high score range of this year's score spectrum, the difference between D01, A01, D07 and A00 is not as large as the overall score spectrum.
Another reason why the National Economics University reserves the right to not apply the difference in scores between groups is because the school announced this 1 year ago, as well as in all subsequent announcements during the admission period.
"I think it is fair to follow what the school has announced. Students have had 1 year to prepare to best meet their strengths and abilities when applying to the National Economics University.

In addition, the school also uses many other methods such as ability assessment scores, thinking scores, international certificates, excellent students, etc. With the method of considering high school graduation exam scores, the risk is that this year's exam questions will be like this and next year's will be different. It is unfair for the school to follow those unpredictable changes," said Mr. Duc.
