Heroic land, heroic people
Returning to the years 1965-1967 to recall the days considered the most fierce of the resistance war against the US to save the country. According to many historical documents, implementing the strategy of "Local War", in 1965, the US imperialists sent massive expeditionary troops to the South in order to destroy the revolutionary forces. At the same time, they blockaded the Gulf of Tonkin and bombed the North with the goal of "bringing the North back to the Stone Age".
Long An Monument Park "Loyalty and steadfastness, the whole people fight the enemy" is a "red address" for traditional education.
Responding to President Ho Chi Minh 's call "No matter how many tens of thousands of troops the US directly sends into the South, no matter how many years, 20 years or longer the Vietnamese people have to fight, the Vietnamese people are determined to fight until complete victory" and the emulation movement "Determination to defeat the US" launched by the Central Committee of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam; with the determination to defeat the US, Long An Party Committee launched a movement for the entire people to fight the enemy.
In many places, soldiers, guerrillas, and people competed to win the titles of “Brave American Destroyer” and “Brave Vehicle Destroyer”; both the elderly and children participated in fighting the Americans. That was making weapons, cleverly stealing weapons from American soldiers, and some teenagers destroyed American tanks and helicopters. Many families dug tunnels at night to hide cadres, and during the day fought political battles, preventing enemy sweeps. Many guerrilla groups both produced and fought in villages, fighting against the enemy in many ways.
Promoting the tradition of "Loyalty and Courage", the old Long An, now the new Tay Ninh, is determined to build an increasingly prosperous and beautiful homeland.
With the People's War strategy, building fighting villages and anti-American belts, attacking the enemy with many flexible and variable attacks, Long An people and army steadfastly held their ground, ensuring the mission of serving the battlefield and maintaining the strategic corridor.
The "flowers" of brave soldiers who killed Americans, brave soldiers who killed airplanes,... on Long An land appeared a lot in the 2nd Congress of Heroes and Emulation Fighters of the whole South. What an honor and pride when at that Congress, on September 17, 1967, the Central Committee of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam decided to confer on the Party Committee, people and army of Long An the title and a flag with eight golden words: "Loyal, brave and resilient, the whole people fight the enemy".
Based in the heart of the people
Leaving Long An ward, traveling dozens of kilometers to the North, visitors will arrive at the Provincial Revolutionary Historical Site in Binh Thanh commune. With experience from the resistance war against the French, the Long An Provincial Party Committee (now Tay Ninh) chose this place as a base to lead the people in the resistance war against the US.
In each period, with different difficult and favorable conditions, the Provincial Party Committee is flexible and mobile in its operating area. However, the place that the Provincial Party Committee and its affiliated agencies chose as their operating base for the longest time is the Ong Ban mound area, Binh Thanh commune (now Muop Xanh hamlet, Binh Thanh commune, Tay Ninh province).
From this base, the Provincial Party Committee directed, proposed policies and resolutions, and led the revolutionary movement in the province until the day of complete victory. The proud achievements with eight golden words of the Long An People were created under the leadership of the Party from this "red address".
The provincial revolutionary historical site is considered a base in the heart of the people.
The relic site was ranked as a National Historical Relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in 1998. With an area of nearly 100 hectares, the Provincial Revolutionary Historical Relic Site is majestic in the middle of a quiet countryside. The swamp base with difficult terrain, formerly known as "Dong Thanh Military Zone", was the gateway connecting the Eastern and Western regions of the South, adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring Cambodia.
The traditional house is located in the middle like a large lotus platform in the middle of a large lake. Even though they have gone through all the floors, visitors still linger to look at each relief that recreates the battles on the river and on land of the People and local guerrillas. The place where visitors stop the longest is the path from the traditional house around the two sides of the large lotus pond because there is a row of steles of the Fatherland honoring the names of the cadres and soldiers who heroically sacrificed in the two resistance wars. On the bright red background like blood are neatly engraved lines of the names of tens of thousands of martyrs who left their youth on the land of bravery and resilience. History has been written with the intelligence and blood of the army and people of Long An.
In the middle of Binh Thanh land, the old base of the people's hearts has been recreated in a project called the Provincial Revolutionary Historical Relic Site. From there, it reminds today's generation to always remember the past merits of their ancestors, remember the revolutionary base that was once the place where the Long An Provincial Party Committee operated.

Continuing the tradition of loyalty and steadfastness
On April 28, 2010, a great event came to the people here when the Provincial People's Committee held the inauguration ceremony of the monument named Long An "Loyal and resilient, the whole people fight the enemy". This is considered the symbol of the province, located in a special location, on National Highway 1, the gateway to Tan An City (now Long An Ward, Tay Ninh Province).
The majestic and imposing monument reminds the present and future generations to remember and be grateful to the mothers, heroes, and soldiers who sacrificed their lives and never forget the great value of "the whole people fighting the enemy". Admiring the monument of the mother of the soldier, each person's heart is filled with the loving hearts of the women who saved rice to feed the army and dug tunnels to hide the soldiers.

On July 1, 2025, the new Tay Ninh province was established on the basis of merging the old Long An and Tay Ninh provinces. After the arrangement, the new Tay Ninh province has 82 communes and 14 wards, with a total population of more than 3.2 million people. The province has determined the general goal of effectively operating the 2-level local government model in a streamlined, efficient, and transparent manner, ensuring stability in organization, serving the people and businesses. Tay Ninh today has made strong, breakthrough changes in the cause of renewing the homeland.
According to Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Quyet, the province continues to adhere to the Party's innovation policy, deeply consistent with the direction of General Secretary To Lam on provincial merger. That is to strengthen leadership and administration to carry out political tasks with the spirit of "1 province, 1 vision, 1 action, 1 absolute belief" to build Tay Ninh province after the merger to become an important growth pole of the Southern Key Economic Zone, a bright spot in the development of clean industry, high-tech agriculture, trade, tourism, international trade gateway of the Southeast region and the whole country, while preserving and promoting the unique cultural values of the basins of the two rivers Vam Co Dong and Vam Co Tay.
Party committees, authorities, all cadres, party members, soldiers and people in the province are determined to continue writing glorious pages of history of the land of "Loyalty and Resilience" to be worthy of the previous generations, building the image of the beautiful homeland of Tay Ninh today./.
The eight golden words come from the struggle, sacrifice, and loss of the Party Committee and the People of Long An (old), and are also the bones and blood of the previous generations. This is the pride of the People of Long An during the period of fighting against the US and saving the country. Therefore, I think the next generation, especially the youth, must practice, study, work,... to be worthy of what our ancestors left behind. On June 5, 1967, in the Cau Kinh area, although our forces were small in number, lacking in equipment and weapons, we organized ambushes, fought bravely, stopped and repelled the enemy's sweep operation. More than 200 American-puppet soldiers were killed, 4 planes were shot down and 3 warships were sunk. That victory made the army and people of the lower Can Giuoc region proud, making an important contribution to the province's overall achievements in the emulation movement "Find the Americans to fight, find the puppets to destroy", which was the basis for the Central Committee of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam to award Long An eight golden words". Mr. Nguyen Van Kiem , a historical witness during the 45 days and nights of fighting the Americans (from June 5, 1967 to July 20, 1967) in Cau Kinh area, Phuoc Vinh Tay commune. I personally feel honored and proud to be born and raised in the land of "Loyalty and Courage". The eight golden words have great value in educating revolutionary traditions for the young generation.
