With 4 days off for this special September 2nd holiday (from August 29th to September 3rd), Hanoi plans to welcome visitors not only for the holiday as usual but also to let everyone join in the proud and heroic atmosphere of the 80th National Day celebration.
With that special meaning, many destinations and relic sites of the Capital have been opened for free for people to experience and share the common joy of the country.
A variety of free activities
Museums under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Ho Chi Minh Museum, National Museum of History, Museum of Fine Arts) have announced that they will open free of charge to serve the public and international visitors from September 1 to September 3.
In addition, the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism , or the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater, also opens its doors for free, especially for children, with many water puppet shows and attractive art and music programs.
Some tourist areas and spots in the capital also organize many free experiential activities such as: Mosaic painting experience, ceramic ring weaving experience and recycled ceramic painting experience at Bat Trang tourist spot (from August 16 to September 2); free tickets to visit heritage sites and watch water puppet shows at Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site; Tour to explore 54 ethnic groups; Discovery Room experience activities for children...

This free opening is aimed at creating conditions for people and tourists to visit and learn about the culture, history, country and people of Vietnam. In addition, the museums will also organize many special exhibitions and displays during the Great Festival.
“During the peak tourist season, especially the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, the Department will coordinate with localities and units to deploy many new tourism products, focusing on cultural tourism products, exploring heritage, historical and revolutionary relics of Hanoi,” said Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang.
Accordingly, tourist areas and attractions in Hanoi have proactively built many diverse tourism products to meet the entertainment needs of visitors from all over the world such as: Experiences associated with heritage-relic values at Ha Mo tourist site, Dan Phuong district (O Dien commune) along the central Hanoi tourist route to the west of the city; Special experiences associated with the values of heritage-relics and craft villages along the tourist route "South Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Road" in Thanh Tri district (Dai Thanh commune), Thuong Tin (Hong Van commune), Phu Xuyen (Chieu My commune).
In addition, there is a community tourism model associated with the practical experience of traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in An Phu commune, My Duc district (now My Duc commune); a rural tourism experience model in Tich Loc commune, Phuc Tho district (Phuc Tho commune); launching the night tourism product "Tran Vu Bell" at the Quan Thanh Temple National Special Monument tourist site; opening a tourism-railway linkage product called the "Nam Cua O" train, passing through the tourist sites of the capital...

The leaders of the Hanoi Department of Tourism assessed that tourism activities are currently bustling with an increasing number of visitors. Notably, cultural tourism and exploration of historical and revolutionary relics are increasingly attracting a large number of people and tourists from home and abroad.
Representatives of travel agencies said that during the Great Festival, tours to Ba Dinh Square, 48 Hang Ngang relic, Ho Chi Minh Museum, Hoa Lo Prison, Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Thang Long Imperial Citadel... are expected to welcome a large number of visitors.
Exciting series of free "National concerts"
The highlight of the pre-holiday events are two big music nights at the Vietnam Exhibition Center in Dong Anh commune, of which the music night “Vietnam in me” aimed at young people will take place at 8pm on August 26. The stage promises to explode with “hot” names such as Soobin Hoang Son, Hoa Minzy, Erik, Duc Phuc, Quan AP, Duong Hoang Yen and the band Chillies.
Next is the comprehensive art program “Hanoi - Forever shining Vietnamese aspiration” at 8:00 p.m. on August 31 (broadcast live, with an open area for invited delegates and the public to enjoy on site). The show is elaborately staged, combining many types of music, dance, and animation with 3D mapping projection technology, modern sound and lighting.

The most notable and anticipated is the special art program on the evening of September 1st, at My Dinh National Stadium. With the main theme praising the love of the Fatherland, the music night is divided into three chapters: The Road to Independence and Unification, Aspiration for the Fatherland and My Fatherland Has Never Been So Beautiful.
The stage brings together artists from many generations, from veteran singers such as Thanh Lam, Dang Duong, Trong Tan, My Tam, Tung Duong to contemporary artists loved by young people such as Den, Lam Bao Ngoc, Anh Tu; bands OPlus, Ngu Cung, Dong Thoi Gian...
On the evening of National Day, September 2, at 7:30 p.m., music will be played simultaneously in many public spaces throughout the city, creating a memorable “harmony”. Four programs will take place simultaneously in four wards, providing many options for residents and visitors.
Accordingly, the program “80 years - Pride of Vietnam” will take place at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square (Hoan Kiem Ward). The performance includes song-dance-music performances, contemporary dance, animation combined with documentary projection, modern lighting and sound technology.

At the same time, the space by West Lake will host the program “Immortal Epic” at the outdoor stage of Lac Long Quan flower garden (Tay Ho ward); the western area of the city will be bustling with the music night “Under the golden stars” at My Dinh stadium (My Dinh ward) and the program “Forever the triumphant song” at Van Quan lake (Ha Dong ward).
The series of art programs held simultaneously throughout the city is an opportunity for people, especially the young generation, to look back on the nation's 80-year journey of pride, thereby arousing love for the homeland and country./.
