Musician Hoai An talked about the beauty of “Vietnamese Soul” in his newly released album of the same name. And all of that is wrapped up in 15 songs imbued with the “Vietnamese soul”.

The 15 songs were divided by musician Hoai An into 3 themes. The group of national heroes has the songs "King Hung's merit", "Me Linh drum", "Reed flag", "Duc Thanh Tran", "Ly dynasty famous general" and "Hoang de ao vai". The group of legends and fairy tales has the songs "Truyen thuy Co Loa", "Banh chung banh giay", "Co tich Thach Sanh", "Son Tinh Thuy Tinh", "Truong Chi My Nuong". The remaining 4 songs are about Vietnamese historical events such as "Hao khi Thang Long", "Tinh than Dong A", "Bach Dang Giang", "Tieng Viet". The songs were performed by musician Hoai An using epic, heroic and emotional material, evoking pride in the hearts of listeners.

Musician Hoai An said that he has loved the history of his country since he was a child, with his first teacher being his father, teacher Vo Dai Mau, who told him about the history, fairy tales, and legends of the country. Growing up, he read books, listened to songs with a strong historical quality by musicians such as Le Thuong, Phan Huynh Dieu... and began composing songs on this topic. In the collection of about 800 songs released by musician Hoai An, many songs on Vietnamese history have left a deep impression on the hearts of music lovers.

With 15 songs in this album, “The Legend of Co Loa” was the first song he composed, nearly 25 years ago. He said that was the time he saw his father reading the book “Brief History of Vietnam” by historian Tran Trong Kim, with valuable and important details underlined. He read it and from there was inspired to write this song. The latest song he wrote is “The Emperor in Cloth”, composed in 2023, with a melody and powerful lyrics about King Quang Trung.

Musician Hoai An called the album “Hon Viet” “the musical work of his life”. Indeed, the album was invested in very elaborately and artistically. There are many singers contributing to the album, with many famous voices such as Vo Ha Tram, Doan Dai Hoa, Duong Ngoc Ha, Cadillac group, and Ngay Moi choir… Many songs are performed in the form of trios and groups, in which the song “Tieng Viet” has up to 45 artists singing in harmony, very grandly. The music in the album is also invested heavily with artists playing the Hai Phuong zither, Thu Thuy erhu, guitar, pipa, Hoai An’s mouth harp, Dat Kim zither, Minh Phat monochord… In charge of the harmony and arrangement of the album are also 3 talented musicians: Ly Huynh Long, Dat Kim and Minh Dang, helping the album bring many new and attractive musical colors.

In addition to releasing the CD format, musician Hoai An also provided a QR code for music lovers to download the original file and also plans to release “Hon Viet” online in the form of karaoke, lyric clips or MV to spread the song. 20 years of “Hon Viet” which is imbued with the beauty of Vietnamese history, musician Hoai An brings proud and meaningful melodies!
