Poet To Huu had enthusiastic songs welcoming the great life-changing event called revolution.
After the general uprising, comrade Nguyen Kim Thanh (pen name To Huu) took on the responsibility of leading the Hue government. Here, King Bao Dai himself read the abdication edict, handing over the government to the newly born Democratic Republic of Vietnam. In the great and unending joy, revolutionary poet To Huu rejoiced in the jubilation of millions of compatriots across the three regions of the country through the poem "August Hue":
Wind, wind! Make a storm!
Roll up the red flag, the blood smells fresh
Golden yellow flying, so beautiful, oh star!
I fell down in the waterfall of people...
The great revolution associated with the red flag with yellow star, signaling the era of independence and freedom. A revolution that shook the heavens and the earth, bringing about fundamental values of human rights, progressive and humane values of universality to all mankind has been and is moving towards:
Fly up to my mountains and rivers
My tears welled up in my eyes and overflowed my lips.
My throat is screaming from a hundred laughs and cries
We hug each other, kiss each other's hair
Are you happy yet? Who can cover my mouth?
I screamed and ran around the house.
Who dares to forbid me from getting drunk, getting divinely drunk?
Flat chest four thousand years,
strong wind this afternoon
Inflate. Heart suddenly turns into the sun.
The poem is bustling and joyful beyond description, expressing a radical change in human destiny, the destiny of the entire nation, creating an unprecedented excitement, a boundless excitement.
It was also the poet To Huu, in the poem "Morning of September 2nd" who solemnly recalled the historical moment of the birth of the young Democratic Republic of Vietnam:
Today is the morning of September 2nd.
The capital of yellow flowers and sunshine Ba Dinh
Millions of hearts wait, birds are silent
Suddenly a loving voice rang out...
“The king of love poems” Xuan Dieu - one of the leaders of Vietnamese romantic poetry in the period 1930 - 1945 also had unexpected and exciting changes. Xuan Dieu used to have romantic verses such as: “It is better to have a glorious moment and then suddenly disappear/ Than to be sad for a hundred years”, or “Whoever analyzes a scent/ A song I only love/ Lets my face drift with the flow of emotions/ Like a fishing boat lost in the mist…”. But the great Autumn Revolution seemed to have magically transformed the poet Xuan Dieu. He enthusiastically welcomed, responded, joined the revolutionary army of the working masses and happily composed the poem “The National Flag”. The national flag became the central inspiration, shining brightly to lead the way:
Vietnam! Vietnam! Red flag with yellow star!
Chest compressions breathe independence day!
Thousands of new forces from all directions surged forth
The flag flutters in the waves, singing a song…
The Vietnamese people who were slaves yesterday, even having to endure a double yoke, today, after the revolution, have stood up straight as free citizens of an independent nation, have joined hands with the same aspirations, united in heart and strength following the national flag of the new Vietnam:
She sold firewood to the city to pick it up.
He pulled the car to make paper on the hood.
The baby struggled to mix the scent.
The old man welcomed the red fire into his stomach.
There are few days when Vietnam is so beautiful.
The blood that had been suppressed for so long burst forth.
Even the shabby huts bloom
Old roots sprout new life
The brave have returned
A hundred years of dispersion like mist…
According to the classical definition, revolution is a festival of the oppressed and miserable masses. But to protect the achievements of the revolution, the road ahead requires solidarity, a spirit of bravery and self-sacrifice for independence and freedom with many hardships and sacrifices. It is a long-term resistance war. Poet Xuan Dieu still thinks according to the inspiration of the red flag and yellow star in the epic poem "National Flag":
The more you fight, the more gold you get.
The more you simmer, the redder it gets.
At the call of the flag, the people of Vietnam
Offering blood and bones without regret for the country
The great revolution has completed 80 years of history, has gone through many challenging and arduous stages and marked great milestones of victory, creating the stature of the Fatherland as it is today. And the good poems and literature will last forever with time, with the public who love literature, with the majority of Vietnamese people.
