On June 16, 2025, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 1673 to establish Bat Xat commune on the basis of merging the natural area and population of 4 communes of Quang Kim, Phin Ngan, Ban Qua, Ban Vuoc and Bat Xat town. After the merger, Bat Xat commune has a natural area of 189.98 km2 and a population of 26,838 people.
With its potential and advantages in terms of landscape, climate, and national cultural identity, the new Bat Xat commune will have a lot of room to develop community tourism, contributing with other economic sectors to create a comprehensive and diverse overall development picture, gradually bringing the locality to develop rapidly and sustainably to become a center for international economic trade connections, as set out by the 1st Party Congress of the commune for the 2025-2030 term.

In autumn, Bat Xat becomes poetic with golden terraced fields. With the introduction of high-yield specialty rice varieties, in recent years, Bat Xat has always ensured food security, and people also have high incomes from growing specialty rice (In photo: Bat Xat terraced fields in the ripe rice season - Photo by Tran Hau). The peaceful Bat Xat highlands with villages looming between the warm yellow color of rice and the green color of mountains and forests (In photo: Van Ho on a new day - Photo by Tran Hau). Not only does it make visitors feel nostalgic during the rice harvest season, but coming to Bat Xat during the flooding season, you will feel like you are lost in the land of "sky mirrors" (In the photo: Lao Vang village terraced fields during the flooding season - Photo by Tran Hau). With its unique terrain, the streams flowing through the area also favor Bat Xat with many beautiful waterfalls (In photo: Ban Vuoc Waterfall, Bat Xat Commune - Photo by Tran Hau).
Located about 10 km from the bustling Lao Cai ward, Lao Vang Lake in Bat Xat is an ideal destination for tourists every weekend. Coming here, visitors will be immersed in the poetic and peaceful natural scenery, relaxing and watching the locals rowing boats to catch fish (In photo: Lao Vang Lake - Photo by Tran Hau). Along with the poetic natural scenery, Bat Xat is also an ideal stop for those who love to explore ethnic culture (In photo: The 12-lamp initiation ceremony of the Red Dao Phin Ngan people - Photo by Tran Hau).
Ethnic minorities in Bat Xat still retain their traditional cultural features, which is the foundation for the locality to preserve and conserve ethnic culture and contribute to the development of community tourism, improving people's lives (In photo: Red Dao people's wedding procession - Photo by Tran Hau).
