Draw for the U17 National Championship Finals: Countdown to the start date

On the morning of September 8, the Vietnam Football Federation held a ceremony to announce the main sponsor and draw lots to schedule the final round of the National U17 Championship - Thai Son Nam Cup 2025.

The 2025 National U17 Championship – Thai Son Nam Cup will take place in Ba Ria Ward ( Ho Chi Minh City) from September 14 to September 26, 2025 with the participation of 12 teams, divided into 3 groups (4 teams/group) competing in a round-robin to calculate points and rank. The three first-place teams, three second-place teams and two third-place teams with the best results will qualify for the Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Finals.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) emphasized that the National U17 Championship plays a particularly important role in the Vietnamese youth football training system, is a playground for players aged 16-17 to accumulate competition experience, and is also an opportunity for clubs and youth football training centers to evaluate the training process, discover and nurture outstanding factors for the country's football.

"This is also an opportunity to discover young talents to prepare for the U17 men's team to participate in the U17 Asian qualifiers in November (held in Hanoi ) and this year's U17 National Championship Finals is also the basis for preparing for the youth football tournament system in 2026" - Mr. Nguyen Van Phu said.

For his part, Mr. Tran Anh Minh - General Director of Thai Son Nam Group Joint Stock Company said that the youth tournaments under VFF are extremely useful playgrounds for young players. Being able to compete in official tournaments helps them have the opportunity to practice and improve their skills, tactics as well as practice their competitive mentality.

"The U17 National Championship is an important tournament for young players because this is the pivotal age for them to mature and compete in the highest professional environment of Vietnamese football. We are extremely honored to be the sponsor of the 2025 U17 National Championship, with the desire to contribute to football, especially youth football. We hope that the U17 National Championship will be a solid launching pad, contributing to the development of Vietnamese national teams in the future" - Mr. Tran Anh Minh shared.

After the signing ceremony to announce the main sponsor of the tournament, the Organizing Committee conducted a draw to schedule the competition for the Final Round. Accordingly, after the qualifying round, the U17 National Championship Finals - Thai Son Nam Cup 2025 has determined 12 names to compete, divided into 3 groups.

Based on the draw results, Group A includes: Ho Chi Minh City Football Club, Hanoi Police, Nam Dinh , Da Nang. Group B includes Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, HAGL, Hanoi, SLNA. Meanwhile, Group C includes Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang, PVF-CAND, The Cong Viettel.

The opening match, on September 14, will witness the competition between the following pairs: An Giang – Ho Chi Minh City, Song Lam Nghe An – Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, PVF CAND – The Cong Viettel and LBPank HAGL – Hanoi.

The opening ceremony of the National U17 Championship – Thai Son Nam Cup 2025 will be held at 3:45 p.m. on September 15, 2025 at Ba Ria Stadium, before the match between Ho Chi Minh City Football Club and SHB Da Nang. VFF in coordination with VTVCab will broadcast some matches live on Onfootball/Onsports channels.
