Vietnamese player scores a super goal, Thanh Hoa Club almost wins against Thailand

Doan Ngoc Tan is the only player of the Vietnamese team who did not return home after winning the AFF Cup 2024. The midfielder born in 1994 started for Thanh Hoa club in the match against Pathum United in the Southeast Asian championship.

With less than 3 days off, Doan Ngoc Tan still played with great enthusiasm. The 2024 AFF Cup champion continuously fought and was fouled many times by his opponent in the first half.

In the second half, Doan Ngoc Tan created a surprising opening goal for the Vietnamese representative. Thanh Hoa's captain launched a beautiful volley that left Pathum United's goalkeeper standing still watching the ball enter the net.

The "Thai Messi" calmly kept the ball in the penalty area, creating an opportunity for Ilhan Fandi to hit the post. Sanchai Nonthasila rushed in to score the rebound against Thanh Hoa FC in the 89th minute.

Both teams had chances in extra time but failed to score. Dong A Thanh Hoa Club and Pathum United shared the points with a score of 1-1, each team has 5 points after the first 3 matches.

Tomorrow night (January 9), the remaining representative of Vietnamese football in the Southeast Asian championship, Hanoi Police Club, will face Kaya Iloilo (Philippines) on the away field.
