At a press conference before the final match taking place on August 18 in Hai Phong , Myanmar coach Uki Tetsuro (Japanese) said: "The U23 Australian team has improved a lot compared to themselves at the beginning of this year's tournament, so tomorrow's final match will be very difficult for us."

If they win the final match tomorrow night (August 19), this team will have won the championship for the third time, equal to the achievement of Vietnamese women's football, only behind Thailand's achievement of winning the championship four times.

Coach Uki Tetsuro said about Win Theingi Tun: “She is very important to the Myanmar women's football team, but team play and team victory are always more important. I want to see every Myanmar female player show their best spirit and performance, for the team.”

In the group stage, Myanmar defeated U23 Australia 2-1 in the opening match. However, in the final match, things may have been different.

Coach Joe Palatsides of U23 Australia shared: “When the Southeast Asian Championship started this year, we arrived in Vietnam later than some other teams. At the beginning of the tournament, U23 Australia did not have time to adapt to the weather.”

“However, after that, everything changed in a positive direction, we went from one progress to another. My players adapted very well to the quite tight schedule in this year's tournament,” added coach Joe Palatsides.

When asked about their opponents Myanmar, the coach of the U23 women's team from the land of kangaroos said: "We will not pay too much attention to the opponent's playing style. The important thing is that U23 Australia shows its own playing style."

“My plan is to help the team control the ball well. If we control the ball, the opponent cannot score and cannot make it difficult for us,” coach Joe Palatsides confidently declared.
