Ho Chi Minh City youth start summer volunteering in Phu Quy island district

During 2 weeks, more than 40 volunteer soldiers who are union members and students from universities, hospitals and units under the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union will carry out many meaningful and civil works in Phu Quy island district (Binh Thuan province).

On June 15, at the Uncle Ho Monument with Children (City Children's House), the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association held the Launching Ceremony of the 2025 Summer Volunteer Campaign to Phu Quy Island District ( Binh Thuan Province).

Attending the launching ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Thi Bach Mai, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Nguyen Thanh Trung, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Ngo Minh Hai, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union.

Accordingly, the volunteer campaign in Phu Quy island district will take place from June 15 to June 30, 2025. Participating in the campaign are 40 volunteers, union members, and students from universities, hospitals, and units under the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union.

During their journey to Phu Quy island district this year, the volunteers will carry out more than 20 practical and meaningful projects and tasks. Typical examples include: lighting up security routes in Tam Thanh and Ngu Phung communes, installing solar lights at the Phu Quy island sovereignty flagpole; building playgrounds and toilets for kindergartens and primary schools; donating water purifiers, televisions, medicine cabinets, and school backpacks; organizing teaching classes, health communication, supporting medical examination and treatment, building a digital library system, protecting the marine environment, and developing the socio-economy...

In particular, in this year's campaign, with the desire to promote the knowledge and creativity of the soldiers to contribute to the development of tourism on Phu Quy Island, the volunteer soldiers coordinated with Phu Quy District Youth Union and the District Culture - Information - Sports Center to implement a regular Phu Quy music meeting point, a check-in point on the Mural Street... where tourists and locals can exchange culture and arts on the island.
