Dr. Hoang Thi Lan Huong, Deputy Director of Hue Central Hospital, spoke at the conference.
The workshop aims to develop a team of health professionals capable of participating in mainstream communication, contributing to orienting community health care behavior in the context of the medical industry strongly transforming towards digitalization and multi-dimensional connectivity.
According to doctors, medicine is a field that has a direct and profound impact on social life. A piece of advice from a doctor, accurate information from a medical expert, or a scientific article that is close to the public - can change behavior, raise awareness and even save lives. Especially in the era of rapid digital technology development, information spreads quickly, grasping and effectively using mainstream media tools becomes necessary to orient public opinion, fight against fake news, misinformation, and contribute to building a healthy, informed community.
Dr. Hoang Thi Lan Huong, Deputy Director of Hue Central Hospital, shared: "In the context of the medical industry strongly transforming towards digital transformation, we not only need to update technology but also need to renew our approach to the community. Medical communication, with the participation of doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, is the way for the voice of orthodox medicine to reach the people.
In recent times, Hue Central Hospital has been promoting its role in communication in the health sector through many effective channels such as: Newspapers, fanpages, YouTube channels, hospital websites, with high interaction, regular updates on medical information, health knowledge, professional achievements and community activities.
MSc. Do Thi Nam Phuong, Head of the Communication Center of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that medical communication is no longer a sideline or auxiliary task, but has become an essential part of modern medical practice. When doctors convey medical knowledge to the community in accurate, easy-to-understand, profound and humane language, they are expanding their professional influence, enhancing their consulting capacity, and contributing to adjusting people's health awareness and behavior in a positive direction.
"To say the right thing, doctors must have a deep understanding. To gain the community's trust, doctors must communicate properly. Communication, if done properly and with direction, will not reduce expertise but on the contrary, help doctors to constantly update, think systematically and express themselves responsibly," shared MSc. Nam Phuong.
