Over the past 100 years (1925-2025), Vietnam University of Fine Arts is proud to be the school that has trained generations of master painters, sculptors, researchers and art critics.
From the foundation formed during the period of Indochina Fine Arts School 1925-1945, with the model and pedagogical system of the West, the school awakened the creativity of the first Vietnamese artists to become masters of modern Vietnamese painting and sculpture.
After 1945, in the context of war, with its noble mission, the Vietnam University of Fine Arts contributed to training generations of painters and sculptors who made important contributions to the cause of national liberation and reunification.
Peace restored, in the atmosphere of building and developing the country in the new era, the school is always a place for generations of artists with creative spirit to keep up with the development of the times...

As part of the activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the school's founding, in October 2024, the school organized a scientific conference "The Indochina College of Fine Arts and its historical mission" which attracted the attention of many domestic and foreign scientists. This year, to continue this series of events, the Vietnam University of Fine Arts organized an international scientific conference: "Vietnam University of Fine Arts - 100 years of creating modern art and serving the country".
The workshop looked back at the proud historical journey of the Vietnam University of Fine Arts in the career of training and developing the country's fine arts, contributing to serving the country.

The content of the seminar is divided into 3 parts: Part 1 is general issues about Vietnam University of Fine Arts. Looking back at the history of the school's formation and development, from its early days to the present.
Part 2 is the Vietnam University of Fine Arts in its 100-year journey of creating modern Vietnamese fine arts. This part aims to evaluate the role of the school in the formation and development of modern Vietnamese fine arts.
Part 3 is Vietnam University of Fine Arts in the current context - training, exchange and cooperation issues. Discussing training, exchange and international cooperation issues in the current context, aiming to orient future development.
The conference received 39 papers, of which 34 were from domestic authors and 5 were from foreign authors from Russia, France, and Japan. The papers were approached from different perspectives, summarizing in-depth research and a comprehensive view of the Vietnam University of Fine Arts.

With the participation of leading scientists and experts from home and abroad, the international scientific conference “Vietnam University of Fine Arts - 100 years of creating modern art and serving the country” is an open academic forum where multi-dimensional opinions are shared, discussed and practical solutions are proposed.
The papers are valuable documents, the basis for summarizing, evaluating, and recording the 100-year journey of growth, accompanying the country's history of the Vietnam University of Fine Arts. It is also the compass, the direction for the development of Vietnamese Fine Arts in general and the Vietnam University of Fine Arts in particular, in order to position existing values and integrate more deeply with the world.
