Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Director of Danang University congratulated the University of Economics on 50 years of establishment and development; at the same time, he affirmed that entering a new development stage is a great opportunity for the school to make a breakthrough in development.
The University of Economics needs to focus on building a development strategy with the aspiration: Determined to build the school to truly become the leading economic management training center of the country, aiming at the region and the world; a prestigious policy consulting center of the central region and the whole country.
To achieve the above goal, the school must become a trusted address for policy research and consulting in the Central and Central Highlands regions in particular and the country in general.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Le Van Huy, Principal of the University of Economics, over 50 years of construction and development, the school has continuously grown comprehensively in all aspects from training scale, staff quality, facilities, to research capacity and international integration; affirming its great contribution, especially in training, human resources, and economic experts for the country.
Entering a new phase, the school continues to build and implement a development strategy to 2030 with a vision to 2040 with the motto "Exploiting potential, realizing vision and development aspirations".
Enhance capacity, improve governance quality towards autonomy and efficiency, aiming at the goal of "Building the University of Economics into a leading training, scientific research, policy consulting and technology transfer center in Vietnam according to international standards in the fields of economics, business and management". Continuously improve all aspects of operation to best meet the requirements of stakeholders in order to realize the vision and development aspirations of the school.
On this occasion, the school was honored to receive the Government's Emulation Flag for outstanding collectives, leading the patriotic emulation movement.
The University of Economics - Danang University, formerly the Faculty of Economics of Danang University, was established exactly 50 years ago (1975). From the beginning, the faculty had less than 20 staff and lecturers and a scale of about 200 students per year. Up to now, the University of Economics has firmly affirmed its position as one of the leading training institutions in the country in the fields of economics, management and business.
Currently, the university has 12 faculties, 7 departments, 3 centers, 1 department and 1 scientific journal, with a training scale of more than 15,000 students, trainees and postgraduates in 19 fields with 37 undergraduate majors, 8 master's majors, 4 doctoral majors and 1 international joint program. The teaching staff consists of 401 officials, including 3 professors, 31 associate professors, 180 doctors and 187 masters.
