ANTD.VN - Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai requested relevant ministries and branches to submit plans to adjust electricity prices before October 25; at the same time, strictly control prices of essential consumer goods.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai finalizes plan to submit electricity price before October 25

On October 11, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai chaired a meeting of the Price Management Steering Committee on the results of price management in the first 9 months of 2023 and orientations for the remaining months of 2023.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai gave specific instructions on a number of important goods and services.

Accordingly, regarding electricity prices, the Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to coordinate with the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises to direct Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) to submit a price adjustment plan before October 25, 2023 in accordance with the direction of the Government, the Prime Minister and the prescribed procedures.

Regarding petroleum products, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade to continue focusing on implementing solutions to ensure supply for the country's distribution system; and be ready to promptly handle price fluctuations when the market fluctuates.

Regarding the Ministry of Health , based on authority and necessity, the Deputy Prime Minister proposed to submit to the Government for comments on the plan to adjust medical service prices in October 2023; consider issuing a Circular on medical service prices in a shortened order.

For other essential goods and services, based on their functions, tasks and authority, the Deputy Prime Minister requested ministries and branches to closely monitor developments, promptly report and propose solutions when there are changes for handling.

Regarding construction materials, including sand for filling, the Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Transport, and the Ministry of Construction to closely monitor supply and demand; and requested localities to strengthen inspection, supervision, and strict and effective management.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai also requested ministries, branches and localities to proactively implement state management of goods under their authority, closely monitor the supply and demand developments and market prices of goods under their management to have appropriate management measures, proactively prepare sufficient goods sources to have solutions for production, storage, and regulation of goods, ensure supply, and stabilize market prices for the end of the year and the 2014 Lunar New Year, especially for important and essential goods.

At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of price declaration and posting measures; publicize price information; inspect compliance with price laws, strictly handle cases of speculation, hoarding and unreasonable price increases; proactively inspect price formation factors according to the provisions of the Price Law when goods have unusual fluctuations.

At the meeting, the Ministry of Finance updated two inflation scenarios this year. Accordingly, scenario 1 forecasts the average CPI in 2023 to increase by about 3.2% compared to 2022.

Scenario 2, average CPI in 2023 increases by about 3.6% compared to 2022.
