(Dan Tri) - The owners of the facility confessed that the firecrackers were of unknown origin and source, disguised as a children's game called "explosive garlic", and sold to students at the school gate.

On December 18, Dien Bien Provincial Police said that Dien Bien District Police had just summoned Nguyen Thi X. (born in 1974), Vu Thi T. (born in 1991), Nguyen Thi L. (born in 1975), Hoang Thi T. (born in 1963) and Hoang Thi T. (born in 1950).

These are 5 grocery store owners who illegally traded in firecrackers. The police have confiscated more than 1,000 boxes of firecrackers from the 5 owners, weighing 8.4 kg.

Major Ho Quoc Viet, Deputy Captain of the Criminal Police Team of Dien Bien District Police, said that in the peak period of attacking and suppressing crimes to protect the Lunar New Year 2025, this unit coordinated with the police of the communes to inspect and detect the above incident.

The owners of the facility confessed that these were fireworks of unknown origin, with eye-catching colors, manufactured under the guise of a children's game called "explosive garlic", and sold to students at school gates.

"According to Decree 137/2020 of the Government , people are not allowed to use firecrackers but are only allowed to use fireworks in cases of festivals, New Year, birthdays, weddings, conferences, openings, anniversaries and in cultural and artistic activities.

In particular, fireworks can only be purchased from organizations and businesses licensed to produce and trade fireworks, and have been granted a certificate of eligibility for security and order by a competent police agency," Major Ho Quoc Viet added.
