Awarding Military Merit Medals to leaders of the Ministry of National Defense

(laichau.gov.vn) On the afternoon of August 31, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony to award the Military Exploit Order to leaders of the Ministry of National Defense. These are experienced officers, matured from practical work, combat, and unit building, who have demonstrated steadfast political will and made many important contributions to the cause of building the Army.

The First Class Military Exploit Order was awarded to the following comrades: General Phan Van Giang; General Trinh Van Quyet; General Nguyen Tan Cuong; Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong; Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien; Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh; Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San; Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam.

Second Class Military Exploit Medal awarded to comrades: Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Hong Thai; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien.

These are experienced cadres, matured from practical work, combat, and unit building, who have demonstrated steadfast political will, pure revolutionary ethics, exemplary lifestyle, high sense of responsibility, profound strategic thinking, excellently completing all assigned tasks, making many important contributions to the cause of building the Army, consolidating national defense, building and protecting the Fatherland in the new period.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense , General Phan Van Giang congratulated the comrades who received the medals and emphasized that this is a noble award of the Party and State, demonstrating the attention, trust, and recognition of the merits and achievements of individuals, and at the same time recognizing the outstanding contributions and high responsibility of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and all officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army throughout the glorious past.

During more than 80 years of building, fighting and growing, the Vietnam People's Army has always been the core force in the cause of defending the Fatherland, an army born from the people, fighting for the people, faithfully swearing allegiance to the Party, wholeheartedly serving the people, completing every task, overcoming every difficulty, defeating every enemy; always worthy of being a special political force, an absolutely loyal and trustworthy fighting army of the Party, State and people.

Under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and beloved President Ho Chi Minh, the protection and care of the people, and the help of international friends, the Vietnam People's Army has always been united, together with the entire Party and people, to achieve glorious feats in the cause of national liberation, construction and defense of the Fatherland.

The images of officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army not afraid of hardships and sacrifices, being present on the front lines against the COVID-19 pandemic, wading through storms and floods to help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters, searching and rescuing victims, and the blue beret soldiers performing UN peacekeeping missions... vividly demonstrate the sentiments and responsibilities of the Army, highly appreciated by the Party and State, trusted and loved by the people, and admired by international friends.

In his speech, General Phan Van Giang expressed his deep gratitude to the Party, the State and the people; thanked the leaders and commanders of agencies, units and officers and soldiers of the entire army for always being united, united, sharing, encouraging, sharing joys and sorrows throughout the working process. Believing that the results achieved were still modest, Minister Phan Van Giang requested that the comrades receiving the Military Exploit Medal today need to make more efforts, constantly train to improve their capacity, qualifications, political mettle, and moral qualities to contribute more to the revolutionary cause of the Party, the nation and the trust and expectations of the Party, the State and the people, and of officers and soldiers of the entire army.

“Regardless of our position, from soldiers to high-ranking officials of the Party and the Army, we always try and strive for the Party's ideal goals, be absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland, and the people; always put the interests of the Party, the Army, and the people above all else. Strictly comply with the regulations of the organization, the laws of the State, and the Army's discipline, uphold principles, strengthen solidarity, and cultivate the moral qualities of cadres and Party members, and the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers.

“Continue to promote intelligence, solidarity, exemplary and representative role models, be a shining example of revolutionary ethics, sense of responsibility, innovation and creativity in building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern Vietnam People’s Army, firmly protecting the Fatherland, maintaining a peaceful and stable environment, contributing worthily to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and our people in the era of strong, civilized and prosperous development,” General Phan Van Giang emphasized.
