On July 31, the Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City submitted to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City a Project on training and fostering cadres, civil servants and public employees to serve the development of the urban railway network system of Ho Chi Minh City in the period of 2025-2030 and vision to 2050. Purpose The project aims to train high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of planning, construction, operation and maintenance of urban railway systems according to international standards.

According to the project's content, the overall goal is to develop a force of cadres, civil servants, public employees and specialized personnel with deep expertise, modern management skills, gradually mastering technology and independently operating the urban railway system, a key factor to ensure the city's urban railway network is deployed effectively, safely and sustainably.
Specifically, training a team of staff with technical expertise, capacity to organize, manage, and operate urban railway construction and operation according to international standards; with sufficient capacity to advise and manage urban planning projects, landscape design and underground space, especially in areas developed according to the public transport-oriented urban model (TOD).
The project also proposes to establish training programs according to the standards of organizations such as UITP (International Public Transport Association), UIC (International Railway Association), RISE (Railway Systems Research Institute), helping to improve the quality and professionalism of human resources in the urban railway industry; Integrating advanced technologies such as BIM (Building Information Modeling), GIS (Geographic Information System), artificial intelligence (AI) and automatic control into the curriculum, enhancing the ability to practice and apply practically for students.
The implementation of the Project is expected to create a solid human resource foundation, accompanying Ho Chi Minh City in the process of developing a modern urban railway system, in line with the general planning orientation to 2040, with a vision to 2060. Thereby, contributing to reducing traffic congestion, protecting the environment and improving the quality of life for the city's residents.
