Ho Chi Minh City proposes fireworks display on New Year's Eve 2025

(CLO) Ho Chi Minh City proposed to set off fireworks at 3 locations including 1 high-altitude location and 2 low-altitude locations, for 15 minutes from 0:00 to 0:15 on January 1, 2025.

On December 5, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee sent a document to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requesting permission to organize fireworks displays for the New Year 2025.

Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City proposed to set off fireworks at 3 locations including 1 high-altitude location and 2 low-altitude locations. The display will last for 15 minutes from 0:00 to 0:15, with funding from socialization.

Of which, the high-altitude firing point at the Saigon River tunnel head area, Thu Duc City, has 1,500 high-altitude shells, 30 low-altitude shells, and 10 pyrotechnic shells.

2 low-altitude shooting points at Dam Sen Cultural Park, District 11 and Van Phuc urban area, Thu Duc City. Each point has 90 low-altitude rigs.

Also on the occasion of welcoming the new year 2025, in addition to the fireworks display, Ho Chi Minh City plans to organize a countdown program on the night of December 31, 2024 at Nguyen Hue walking street, Ben Bach Dang park and the floating logo on the Saigon River.

The city plans to organize art performances in districts 12, Tan Phu, Binh Tan, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, Nha Be, and Can Gio on the nights of December 31, 2024 and January 1, 2025, respectively.

Some sports activities to welcome the new year 2025 are also held on this occasion such as the 11th Ho Chi Minh City Marathon 2025, the International Martial Arts Festival, the 2025 New Year's cycling race on Mai Chi Tho street...
