Ha Long City celebrates the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day

NDO - On December 18, Ha Long city ( Quang Ninh province) solemnly held the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day.

At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Army in general and the armed forces of Quang Ninh province and Ha Long city in particular, and affirmed the important significance of the National Defense Day.

Over the past 80 years, under the absolute, direct, and comprehensive leadership in all aspects of the Communist Party of Vietnam , with the love, protection, and assistance of the people, inheriting and promoting the nation's patriotism and military art, overcoming countless hardships and challenges, the Army has, together with the people, achieved great victories in the cause of national liberation, defending the Fatherland, and fulfilling glorious international obligations.

Reading the speech at the ceremony, Secretary of Ha Long City Party Committee Vu Quyet Tien affirmed: Through the wars of national liberation, defending the Fatherland and fulfilling international obligations, tens of thousands of outstanding sons of Ha Long homeland have gone to fight and heroically sacrificed on all battlefields; thousands of wounded and sick soldiers have left behind a part of their blood and bones for the cause of national liberation, tens of thousands of frontline laborers and youth volunteers have devoted their youth to being ready to go to battle for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people.

The glorious feats and outstanding achievements of generations of cadres and soldiers of the city's armed forces have written heroic pages of history, contributing to beautifying the glorious tradition of the armed forces of Quang Ninh province, the tradition of the Vietnam People's Army - the heroic army of a heroic nation.
