Total revenue from tourism activities of Con Chim community tourism site in 5 years reached about 24 billion VND.

On the morning of January 24, with the agreement of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DOCST), the Con Chim Agricultural and Community Tourism Cooperative held a conference to review 5 years of operation of the Con Chim tourist site and deploy the first operation plan of the Con Chim Agricultural and Community Tourism Cooperative, term 2024 - 2029.

Attending the conference were Mr. Lam Huu Phuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Thai Phuoc Loc, Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Union; Ms. Thach Thi Sa Thy, Chairman of Chau Thanh District People's Committee; representatives of the Hoa Minh Commune People's Committee; representatives of the Hoa Minh Commune Women's Union and members of the Con Chim Agricultural and Community Tourism Cooperative.

The Con Chim community tourism site was launched on September 9, 2019. Up to now, the tourist site has 18 households operating tourism, with services such as: food and beverage, folk games, crab fishing, fishing, shrimp fishing, fishing, bicycle rental, selling local specialties, and transportation services. In addition, there are 5 households building homestays with 27 rooms, ensuring the resting needs of tourists.

In the past 5 years, Con Chim community tourism site has welcomed more than 85,000 visitors, of which: 79,800 domestic visitors accounted for 90%, 810 foreign visitors accounted for 10%, and 3,407 overnight visitors. Total revenue in 5 years was about 24 billion VND, profit was over 5.2 billion VND, accounting for 17.8% (revenue from overnight visitors was over 408 million VND, from food and beverage services was 17 billion VND, sales were over 2.2 billion VND, and revenue from visitors was over 2.4 billion VND).

Through community tourism activities, people have understood the benefits of tourism, thereby creating jobs for 52 local workers with monthly incomes of 5 - 15 million VND, contributing to increasing income for people. Through the survey, the average income per capita of households in July 2024 reached 89 million VND/person/year, an increase of 48 million VND compared to 2019.

In addition, during the operation of the Con Chim community tourism cooperative, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh province organized 6 training courses with 102 members participating to improve communication and behavior skills, develop new products, and improve service quality...

At the conference, Con Chim Agricultural and Community Tourism Cooperative approved the draft operational plan for 2025 and the draft operational regulations of the first Con Chim Agricultural and Community Tourism Cooperative, term 2024 - 2029.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Lam Huu Phuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, acknowledged and highly appreciated the results that the Con Chim community tourism site has achieved in the past 5 years. At the same time, he requested members of the Con Chim agricultural and community tourism cooperative to continue promoting the potential, products and tourism resources to attract more and more visitors, contributing to socio-economic development. Focus on training communication skills, service style, improving foreign language proficiency for tour guides and households working in tourism, regularly collaborating with the Provincial Tourism Promotion Information Center to open skill training classes to improve the quality of service to tourists...

In addition, it is necessary to improve the quality of services and products; invest in and design more entertainment services; mobilize local people to participate and develop more tourism services, develop products as souvenirs typical of Con Chim for visitors when they come to visit and shop. Continue to promote and connect with tourist attractions and travel businesses inside and outside the province.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded a certificate of merit to the Con Chim community tourism site, Hoa Minh commune, Chau Thanh district for winning the "ASEAN Community Tourism 2025" award.
