'I feel like I'm in a dream'

Kim Chi made a hole in one at the 4th hole, a par 3, with a length of 148 yards (about 135 meters). She used a pitching wedge, creating a beautiful curve before the ball hit the ground and rolled into the hole.

" My emotions are hard to describe after seeing the ball roll into the hole. I was both happy and elated as if I was in a dream. It was a shot from 148 yards, the wind was slightly down from the right. I used a pitching club, and the ball flew quite high. Looking at the direction of the ball, I thought it would just hug the flag, but unexpectedly the ball fell down, rolled a few times and went into the hole ," Kim Chi emotionally shared.

With this achievement, Kim Chi became the first athlete to score a Hole in one at this year's National Golf Championship. Previously, at the 2022 National Golf Championship at Vinpearl Golf Hai Phong , Le Chuc An and Nguyen Huy Thang both scored a Hole in one at number 17.

Pham Thi Kim Chi, born in 1997, is the older sister of former national athlete Pham Thi Yen Vi and the daughter of golf coach Nguyen Thi Thu Ha. After completing hole 4, Kim Chi is temporarily in the top 10 of the second day of competition. In stage 1, Dang Minh led the men's table with a score of -6. Le Chuc An and Nguyen Thao My shared the top spot of the women's table with 75 strokes (+3).

After today's competition, August 9, the organizing committee will cut 40 male athletes and 12 athletes to move on to the next round.

The 2023 National Golf Championship is taking place in Hai Phong city from August 8-11. 154 of the best athletes nationwide are participating. The total prize for the men's division is 1 billion VND, and the women's division is 200 million VND.
