The award ceremony opened with a special art performance to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (1925 - 2025), looking back at the proud journey of revolutionary journalism, with a century of accompanying the nation.
The art performance program consists of 3 chapters: "The Origin of Light", "Resistance - Nation Building - Firm Steps of Faith", "The Sharp Pen of the Era"; recreating the history of Vietnam's revolutionary press accompanying the great moments of the nation; demonstrating absolute loyalty to the revolutionary path chosen by the Party and Uncle Ho.
Mr. Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association , Chairman of the National Press Awards Council spoke at the award ceremony.
Presenting the A prize and speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged, highly appreciated and respectfully thanked the great contributions of press agencies, veteran journalists, and generations of journalists to the revolutionary cause of the nation, making an important contribution to the great achievements of our Party, State and People; deeply grateful to journalists who have sacrificed their entire lives for the cause of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism.
From nearly 2,000 entries, the Judging Council selected 183 entries that passed the preliminary round, and continued to select 128 outstanding press works to award prizes, including: 13 A Prizes, 27 B Prizes, 49 C Prizes and 39 Encouragement Prizes. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh awarded the A prize to the group of authors of the VOV National Traffic Department for the 5-part series: "Throwing" billions of dong onto the streets.
Mr. Lai Xuan Mon, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission and Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association presented awards to authors and groups of authors who won the B prize.
Mr. Do Tien Sy, Member of the Party Central Committee, General Director of Voice of Vietnam Radio Station and Mr. Hoang Trung Dung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Communist Magazine presented awards to the authors who won the C prize.
Mr. Le Hai Binh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Ms. Vu Viet Trang, General Director of Vietnam News Agency presented awards to the authors and groups of authors who won the C prize.
Mr. Pham Manh Hung - Deputy General Director of Voice of Vietnam presented awards to the authors who won the Encouragement Prize of the National Press Award.
According to the assessment of the Final Jury, the highlight of this year is the multimedia press products, creative press that the press agencies have invested in elaborately, applying modern press technology, developing multi-platform, multimedia press but still standardizing the content, ensuring political, ideological, accurate, timely, having positive and strong social impact, increasing attractiveness, increasing the ability to reach the public. The works selected by the Final Jury are very worthy of being awarded the 19th National Press Award.
