Seminar on Solutions to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Agriculture

On the morning of August 22, the National Agricultural Extension Center in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) organized a seminar with the theme "Solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture".

Speaking at the opening of the seminar, the leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said: Agriculture is one of the key economic sectors of Ninh Thuan province, playing an important role in ensuring food security and creating jobs for many local workers. However, besides the economic benefits, the agricultural sector is facing many difficulties and challenges, especially the issue of greenhouse gas emissions. The seminar is an opportunity for experts and people directly involved in production to review the results achieved as well as propose production solutions to minimize greenhouse gas emissions in the coming time.

At the seminar, experts introduced some research results in livestock farming to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions; effective biosafety, circular, organic pig farming models; sustainable and low-emission rice farming measures; the current status of organic agricultural production to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Ninh Thuan. At the same time, delegates focused on exchanging and discussing issues such as: Strengthening propaganda, dissemination and timely implementation of support mechanisms and policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture; management of crop residues and livestock waste; transferring high-tech agricultural production models, effective greenhouse gas emission reduction models to farms, cooperatives and households in the province.
