Dien Bien Province organizes the Northwest Quintessence Festival - Dien Bien in 2025

On April 23, 2025, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province issued a Plan to organize the 2025 Northwest - Dien Bien Quintessence Festival at the regional level, expected to be held from August 29-31, 2025 in Dien Bien Phu City.

This activity is part of the Agreement on tourism development cooperation between the 8 expanded Northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City for the period 2021-2025, aiming to continue promoting and improving the effectiveness of tourism cooperation activities between the 8 expanded Northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to promoting and effectively exploiting the tourism potential and advantages of the locality.

Activities within the framework of the Festival include: Art program (opening at 8:00 p.m. on August 29, 2025); Display and introduction of unique tourist destinations of the extended Northwest provinces and Ho Chi Minh City; Northwest culinary festival; "Quintessence of the Northwest" street festival; "Colors of the Northwest" beautiful tourism photo exhibition; organizing art exchange programs; Conference on Promotion, Advertising and Development of Northwest Tourism - Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, propaganda work will be carried out from April 2025.

Dien Bien province also plans to invite international delegates with whom the province has diplomatic relations such as: Northern Laos province; Saint Petersburg city (Russian Federation); Chiang Mai province (Kingdom of Thailand); Embassies of several countries in Hanoi (Laos, Thailand, China, Russia, Algeria, Japan, Korea, India, ...) and several international organizations in Hanoi (JICA, AFFD, ...)

The organization of the Northwest - Dien Bien Quintessence Festival in 2025 will also gradually form unique economic, cultural and tourism products of the 8 expanded Northwest provinces on the basis of the common tourism product brand of the 8 expanded Northwest provinces and Ho Chi Minh City at regional and international level. Building a unique and rich "Northwest Quintessence" brand, honoring the quintessence of the land, culture and people of the ethnic groups in the expanded Northwest to attract tourists.
